According to an e-mail from the Andy Hurst (11th Congressional District) campaign against Tom "DeLay" Davis:

Hurst to Open Central Office in Fairfax; Connolly, Petersen, Bulova to Introduce

Democrat Andrew Hurst will officially open his central office in the City of Fairfax next Wednesday, September 6.  The event will begin at 7:00 PM and will be held at 11198 Lee Highway Fairfax, VA 22030.  Hurst is the Democratic nominee for the 11th congressional district of Virginia.

Hurst will be introduced by fellow Democrat and Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Gerry Connolly.  Former Delegate Chap Petersen (D-37) and current Delegate David Bulova (D-37) will also address the crowd.

Aside from his highly questionable ethics, why does Tom "DeLay" Davis need to be defeated? How about:

*A ZERO rating, according to Project Vote Smart, on womens' reproductive freedom

*A miserable 11% rating from the  Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.

*Another pitifiul 11% rating, this time from the Children's Defense Fund.

*An even lower, 8% rating, from the National Parent Teacher Association.

*A voting record thta is just about in lockstep with George W. Bush's - around 90%.

*A critical vote against increased funding for Veteran's health care at this time of war.

Tom Davis needs to lose (pitin - 9/1/2006 11:13:22 AM)
glad to see Democrats rallying around Hurst like this.  Can't wait for the next poll to come out.

This is my prediction (depending on when it would be in the field)

Sept. 15'ish  7 points Davis Lead
Oct 1'sh 5.5 points Davis Lead
Oct 15'ish 4.3 points Davis Lead

Time will tell whether I'm being over optimistic.  Or whether I have "misunderestimated" Davis.

Pitin those are great looking numbers (NovaDem - 9/1/2006 11:42:13 AM)
However, while office opens are fun, to close the gap between Davis and Andy by that much we need ppl to show up to the office early at 5 PM, our regulare phonebank time, and make calls till the party starts at 7 PM, our come in on Tues. and/or Thurs. since we have had to move the dates we are losing several of our regular callers.More info Here.
