NLS Nails Another One

Ben's found another ma*#%a gaffe by another person who supposedly is trying to help Allen.  Check NLS for his take.

Everytime a Republican screams about the incident it does two things:

1. Keeps the incident in the public eye.  On behalf of all Webb supporters, thanks for the free publicity.

2. Makes the speaker and Allen look like jackasses.  The "blame the victim" game only plays well with the true diehards.  Mainstream Virginians will be disgusted by it.

Who is Allen's hero/saviour this week?  None other than the past president of Republican Club of Greater Reston.  With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Some gems from the past president...

Senator George Allen's recent gaffe was certainly unfortunate.  He opened himself up to criticism and let his campaign get off message by an unnecessary diversion.  What Senator Allen is most guilty of is taking the bait.

And regarding trackers...

There is a word to describe following an individual day in and day out, ... it is called stalking.

This sort of activity is cheap, childish, and sophomoric.

Ooops.  Allen has had a tracker on Webb since before Webb won the primary.  We have photographic proof.

Attention George Allen - your loyal supporter, a former past president of a Republican club, just called you cheap, childish, and sophomoric.  Guess you lost his vote.

Since both Webb and Allen have trackers I suppose this guy is going to have to vote for the train lady.

Excellent!! (summercat - 8/31/2006 1:27:07 PM)
There was a letter in the DP today from a man in Gloucester expressing the same kind of outrage (and ignorance) re Webb having a tracker.  See "Republican Lament", URL below:
http://www.dailypres...

I'm thinking of calling the guy, if he is in the phone book, to clue him in (in a nice way, of course).

OMG (Eric - 8/31/2006 1:40:06 PM)
This is truly eye-popping...

Has anyone stopped to consider the fact that Sen. George Allen could have been set up?

How dare Webb introduce a non-white person into the equation!  That has set up written all over it - it's not like Allen would ever run into anyone who is not white in his daily routine.  He must have been so confused at the very sight of a non-white person he had to resort to his only option: to use a racial slur against that person.  Just like the Webb team intended.

***SARCASM COMPLETE***

Jeesh...

Thanks summercat for pointing this one out!

This guy is great... (Delta Mike - 8/31/2006 1:54:12 PM)
... he thinks John Warner isn't conservative enough!

Who does he want? Rasputin?

It's no problem keeping this story alive (Josh - 8/31/2006 3:15:11 PM)
It will live forever.

George Allen will never get the stain of the M-word off his back.

He's damanged goods and the word is now a new part of the American vernacular, like "Redstate/Bluestate", or "Truthiness".  George Allen is now an immortal of intolerance.  I'm sure his friends at the CCC are overjoyed.

Did you even read the post? (Eric - 8/31/2006 3:22:49 PM)
There's not much there that's trying to "nail Allen".  It's all about how this particular Allen supporter is

1. Clueless about trackers
2. Not helping Allen

And yes, I'll be happy to keep this story alive, but thanks to people like this Allen supporter I don't have to.

Tell the Allen supporter who wrote this silliness (Susan Mariner - 8/31/2006 4:24:18 PM)
to check my diary called "Allen's Webb tracker full of Caca."  There's a picture of an Allen tracker videotaping Webb in it.

You're an idiot (DukieDem - 8/31/2006 3:49:19 PM)
This story is being kept alive on its own. My mom called me today to say that the paper in Asheville NC was running a story on Allen, and let's just say it wasn't positive. He's made himself a brand name for national bigotry, no amount of trolling over here is going to change that.

Let's show the respect for our visitors (Josh - 8/31/2006 4:03:37 PM)
that George Allen simply won't.

IP isn't an idiot, he's put his support behind rotten ideas and a rotten candidate in George Allen.

Ahh...what ever happened to good ol' Hunter Pickels? (thegools - 8/31/2006 5:06:12 PM)
That was a fun and interesting bit of comedy when he was on the scene.
