Want a "Sponser" for your Volunteer Activity?

Yesterday on DailyKos a Brilliant Idea was hatched.

User workingmom OH, wrote the diary My Volunteer Challenge.  In this diary she explains that she is too busy to volunteer, but wants to be able to help build grassroots.

She explains her proposal like this.

I'm issuing this challenge to those equally important individuals who may not be able to contribute as much as they like but who do have the time to knock on doors and attend campaign events and man the phone banks.

In addition to my previously budgeted campaign dollars I'm pledging to match volunteer hours with contributions on a $10/hour basis.

So, for each hour of your time you can earn your candidate or a different candidate of your choice $10 in campaign contributions.

I'm pledging up to $5000.00.

So, if you volunteer for any campaign, and want to go ahead and raise some money for that campaign at no cost to yourself, please visit My Volunteer Challenge and let workingmom OH know that you would like some of those dollars to flow into Virginia.  I've already contacted her and pledged 100 hours to Andy Hurst (money comes in after each week's work, not all at once).

I'm having my "sponsership" money go to Hurst (pitin - 8/31/2006 12:00:43 PM)
If any other RK'ers are taking part in this, let us know where the loot is going.
