Note: Run, don't walk to this site and make a personal printout of Keith Olbermann's remarks tonight before they are scrubbed.  Here's what he had to say.  Also remember to thank Keith. KathyinBlacksburg

"Feeling morally, intellectually confused?
Commentary by Keith Olberman of MSNBC

The man who sees absolutes, where all other men see nuances and shades of meaning, is either a prophet, or a quack.

Donald H. Rumsfeld is not a prophet.

Mr. Rumsfeld+óGé¼Gäós remarkable speech to the American Legion yesterday demands the deep analysis+óGé¼GÇ¥and the sober contemplation+óGé¼GÇ¥of every American.

For it did not merely serve to impugn the morality or intelligence -- indeed, the loyalty -- of the majority of Americans who oppose the transient occupants of the highest offices in the land. Worse, still, it credits those same transient occupants -- our employees -- with a total omniscience; a total omniscience which neither common sense, nor this administration+óGé¼Gäós track record at home or abroad, suggests they deserve."

having read it, I agree it is powerful (teacherken - 8/30/2006 9:24:20 PM)
and I especially like his invocation of the image of the Emperor's "new clothes."  How apt that is when applied to the current administration.

It is up on crooksandliars... (Loudoun County Dem - 8/30/2006 9:30:40 PM)

I am not kidding when I say this; I was just about to make a post on his commentary. I just saw it on Tivo and I was going to try and copy down some of his best points. There's some quote about great minds that I think applies here.

Incredible commentary by Olberman. Every American who still holds an ounce of respect for the truth should listen to watch/read Olberman's remarks.

I cried, for a while.. (drmontoya - 8/30/2006 11:03:11 PM)
(what I wrote on kos)

I hope no one makes me feel stupid for it. But I cried.

Finally some truth.

I know Keith pushes the envelope, and has the courage to do it. But, he may be the only journalist I respect in America.

Thank you Mr. Olberman, thank you for giving me hope in this failing democracy.

All in my nearly 23 years of living.

(I also sent him a private email, about how this will probably impact any servicemember who hears this commentary)

Tears (KathyinBlacksburg - 8/31/2006 5:56:37 AM)
Me too!

I cried while applauding my t.v. (beachydem - 9/1/2006 10:10:36 AM)
Definitely a "feel good 'n' proud goosebumps of shear joy and happy tears" moment!

The must see video.. (drmontoya - 8/30/2006 11:09:53 PM)

That almost brought me to tears (DanG - 8/31/2006 12:07:18 AM)
That was one of the most amazing speeches I've seen come out of a journalist in my entire life.

Thank you, Keith Olbermann.  God Bless You for having the guts to say what needed to be heard.

Another good one by the Obe-man (DanG - 8/31/2006 12:21:02 AM)
