Richmond Webb HQ Grand Opening

I hear that the grand opening for the Richmond Webb for Senate HQ was "amazing."  Reportedly, there were over 300 people (according to Arlington County Commissioner of Revenue Ingrid Morroy, there were 349 exactly - and she knows how to count!), including State Sen. Creigh Deeds, Del. Brian Moran, Del. Donald McEachin, 7th district House of Representatives candidate Jim Nachman, Del. Jennifer McClellan (D-71), Roanoke County Commissioner of Revenue Nancy Horn, and bloggers like Conaway Haskins, PhriendlyJaime, DukieDem and J.C. Wilmore.

More details courtesy of Nichole:

I got a list of over 200 volunteers from the event. We gave out hundreds of signs. Someone called the fire dept on us, unsure who.
We served over 400 hotdogs.

People brought flowers, homemade cakes. Cakes that said, "Let's send Webb to Washington," "Webb for Senate," etc.

We got everything inside just before a HUGE downpour.

Sounds great, wish I could have been there!

Best Estimate (DukieDem - 8/28/2006 9:44:06 PM)
There were 427 hot dogs consumed. Taking into account those who didn't eat a hot dog and that this wasn't the type of event that you ate two or three, we're thinking 375-400 is a fair estimate. Great event.

Good job us ;) (Nichole - 8/28/2006 9:46:08 PM)
It was a job well done... now we get to dig through ALL of those donated supplies!

And I finally (Ingrid - 8/28/2006 9:58:38 PM)
got to meet Nicole, Dukie Dem, Conaway, JC and others. The energy was electric. The volunteers here in the Richmond area are just amazing. Kudos to all of you for a well-organized event!

Btw: thanks to Conaway for recommending Emilio's on West Broad Street.  Great tapas and mojitos!

What a great response! (lwumom - 8/28/2006 10:00:27 PM)
With all those friends and neighbors out there to volunteer, we're going to be in good shape!  Thanks for the pictures!  I miss my home!

Sounds like a great party... (Loudoun County Dem - 8/28/2006 10:09:44 PM)
...A splendid time was guaranteed for all...

Wish we coulda been there... GREAT JOB!!!

I was able to make it down (CrellMosetArisen - 8/29/2006 1:06:50 PM)
from Charlottesville, and it was well worth the drive - a very energized crowd and inspirational speeches all around.  Did anyone notice the look in Jim's eyes when he started talking about how his son was shipping out to Iraq next week?  This is the kind of man we need in the Senate.

I did (Nichole - 8/29/2006 1:19:40 PM)
The look in his eyes.... you could feel his pain.

Nice to see you here Nichole (CrellMosetArisen - 8/29/2006 7:13:46 PM)
I think you were the one that took down my e-mail address so you could tell me when the Charlottesville office opened :-)
