Tim Kaine Accepts Responsibility; Republicans Criticize Him Anyway!

No class.  That's about all I have to say about our wonderful Virginia House GOP contingent.  I mean, seriously, Tim Kaine steps up and takes responsibility for a $137 million budgetary math error that: a) was not his fault; and b) only came to his attention last month.  So, what do House Republicans do?  Criticize him, of course. What else?  Oh, they'll "make [Kaine] wait until Sept. 27, the date for a special session on transportation, to write Kaine's remedy into law," even though this "could deprive local school districts of additional money if not enacted swiftly."

Petty.  Classless.  Right wing.  Republicans.  That's really all there is to say on this subject.

In Contrast... (VA Breeze - 8/28/2006 9:22:32 PM)
The Bush Administration and in Congress, the Senate Republicans are delaying for over a week Medicare payments, Sept 22-30, so to move $5.2 Billion in Medicare expenses to next year's budget. So, to cover the budget problems, many health care providers-hospitals, doctors and other providers will have to wait to get their checks.

I guess that drug plan is costing way more than they said it would...

Tim Kaine grows on me...it is little incidents like this that make me have a little faith in the people running the government.

He does what most honest people were taught to do.  When you mess up, stand up.  He refuses to make the bigger mistake that so many make...covering it up.  He'll have a good remainder of his term, no matter how hard the House Republicans try to make mischief.
