Dubya Headlines

A quick look at the CNN website tells you everything you need to know about how well Dubya and his Republican allies (people like George Allen) are running the country.

Let's see what headlines Dubya's screw ups have generated today...

#1. Thousands of Marines face involuntary recalls

The U.S. Marine Corps said Tuesday it has been authorized to recall thousands of Marines to active duty, primarily because of a shortage of volunteers for duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now if Bush had only focused on the actual war on terror we wouldn't have 130,000 troops tied up in Iraq and I'd bet that many more of them would be volunteering for duty.

#2. McCain chides administration for Iraq war rhetoric

Republican Sen. John McCain, a staunch defender of the Iraq war, on Tuesday faulted the Bush administration for misleading Americans into believing the conflict would be "some kind of day at the beach."

Say it ain't so Senator!  The Bush administration has mislead the American people?  Now that would be a first (rolling eyes)

#3. Poll: Opposition to Iraq war at all-time high

Opposition among Americans to the war in Iraq has reached a new high, with only about a third of respondents saying they favor it, according to a poll released Monday.

That whole Iraq invasion thing.  A stroke of sheer genius by Bush and his Neo-con buddies.

#4. No child left out of the dodgeball game?

The percentage of students who attend a daily physical education class has dropped from 42 percent in 1991 to 28 percent in 2003, the report says.

The report's findings are compelling in the context of the rise in obesity rates.

The number of kids considered overweight has more than tripled since 1980, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

...

Critics contend that the very legislation meant to bolster national academic standards -- the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 -- may be a culprit in the diminishing P.E. curriculum, unintentionally sapping schools of time and resources for exercise as educators focus more and more on test scores and rigorous academic coursework.

And just when you started thinking the only think Bush could screw up was Iraq.

This is, of course, only today's sampling of Bush screw ups that are hurting our county in many, many ways.

It's time for a change of leadership.
