Keep the pressure on...

Today, other than some embedded comments trying to give an additional interpretation to the term "macaca", was the first time in over a week that the Washington Post and the Washington Times failed to have significant articles about Allen's video incident.

It is up to the Webb supporters to ensure that this issue won't die. Lets make sure that we have a concerted effort to remind Virginia's voters of who George Felix really is! Some ideas...

1. A campaign of Letters to the Editor around the Commonwealth articulating Allen's past history regarding the flag, the noose, MLK Jr.'s memorial day, his sister's book, etc.
2. Demonstrators with placards at all Allen events addressing his dismal record.
3. Appearances by Webb supporters at every ethnic event to get the word out, to introduce Webb to those who know nothing about him, and to recruit volunteers within the various communities - Hispanic, South Asian, Asian and Afro-American.
4. A concerted effort to get the various college communities backing Webb - a great source of enthusiastic volunteers.

We have a great candidate who, unfortunately, still has low name recognition. Look where we are today - 5 points down with only approximately 40% name recognition. Think where we will be in September and October with 70% name recognition!

Here's a link (lwumom - 8/21/2006 3:02:19 PM)
for a couple of articles from Cville's Daily Progress.  I hvae noticed that the newspaper has neglected to post letters to the editor since the 11th.  I was looking forward to reading the reactions of people
in the area to Felix's comments, especially since Siddarth is a student at UVA.
