Here are some photos from Webb's visit to the VA-KY Fair tonight.

Everyone at the fair was very interested in meeting Webb.  One older guy, after meeting Webb, told me he believed Webb "was the real deal."  A lady said she and her husband were "going to do everything [they] can to help elect Webb."

Tomorrow, Webb will be doing a breakfast in Russell County, a rally in Dickenson County, then attending a VFW District meeting in Clintwood.

good job -- but I hope crowds got bigger :-) n/t (teacherken - 8/18/2006 11:12:11 PM)

There's that dorky tracker (Mark - 8/18/2006 11:31:25 PM)
again; he must be real busy waiting for Jim to say something untoward to him or about him. Oops! No such luck, Jim is a gentleman and would not do that. Besides, Jim has more class than that.

Great to see Jim out in SWVA. I hope he can make it to the rural CENVA area soon.

Where in CenVA Mark? (lwumom - 8/18/2006 11:32:19 PM)

If I read your name right (Mark - 8/18/2006 11:35:25 PM)
it might mean Longwood U Mom, is that right?

I live 15 miles to the north of Longwood on Rt 45 in Cumberland County, where I am the chair of the Democratic Committee.

Very cool! (lwumom - 8/18/2006 11:53:28 PM)
Both of my daughters graduated from Longwood U!  I'm living in San Diego right now because my husband was transfered in his job, but I am still linked (by heart) to my home in Fluvanna County.  My daughters and a sister live there.

I'm so psyched about VA politics this year!  Makes me yearn for HOME even more!

"Dorky tracker".... (thegools - 8/19/2006 12:24:27 AM)
....I wouldn't say that.  In fact if anything I would make a special point to be friendly and curtious to such people.  Seriously,  there is no call for being anything but decent to him or anyone else like that.  He is doing no harm, and is only doing what countless other people do during election seasons.

"Do unto others.....", "love thy neighbor....", "love thine enemies...."  There is good reason those lessons are so well known after a couple of millinia. They make life better.

Allen, on the other hand, does not seem to live by these ideas.  He is not empathetic nor gentlemanly.  Why not make the contrast between Webb and Allen obvious to all, even Allen's hinchmen?

Yes (DukieDem - 8/19/2006 2:27:31 AM)
Don't attack the trackers. Thats what makes us better than the other side.

I Agree Completely (Mark - 8/19/2006 3:06:43 AM)
And I apologize for it, something it seems George Allen doesn't have the capacity for.

However, I do have a favorite saying; "I am not a dork, I am a geek. There is a big difference."

I call myself a dork, but I agree that I should be better than that when dealing with others. I retract my earlier comment completely. Actually, he was very nice that day in C'ville.

At the very least, (lwumom - 8/18/2006 11:31:26 PM)
Jim got news coverage AND volunteers.  That means alot!

And liberals (lwumom - 8/19/2006 12:49:36 AM)
are supposed to be "godless."

Oops (lwumom - 8/19/2006 12:51:08 AM)
that was supposed to be a reply to "the gools" post.  :)
