Please note this is a quick recap from what I could type as I watched in glee and in no way an accurate transcript. Please be ready for an up-to-date transcript later.

On Hardball tonight with Chris Mathews, the Macaca story made the final segment with Mathews rolling the clip that shows Allen calling Sidarth the now famous slur.

In addition, Mathews mentions the fact that Allen's mother is of French Tunisian descent and that, as with all colonial powers there is a derogatory term that is used by the ruling elite that "refers to the locals."

In this case, Mathews manages to smile and laugh his way through an otherwise serious topic, asking his two panelists their opinion on the matter.

Democratic strategist Jenny Backus, former Kerry 2004 aide and DNC Communications Director, said Allen's comments were appalling and that he should have apologized properly on the first day. Now it's still being played out on Hardball +óGé¼+ôon Thursday+óGé¼-¥ no less.

On the other side of the aisle, Republican political hack and convicted Watergate felon G. Gordon Liddy said this would eventually blow over and that nothing big would come of it. (I guess after you're convicted felon and once suggested that you could "get..assassinated on some street corner" to take some heat off his boss-Nixon-that pretty much everything else is tame.)

Liddy also had the reassuring words that Allen was "a friend" of his and was in no way a racist. However, Liddy recall what he learned from Watergate: it's never the deed that gets you, but the cover-up. Allen should come clean, but Liddy still loves him (racism and all).
