I'm not going to write a bunch of detail about the Blacksburg party, but the call was great. We didn't have a large crowd, but a very nice one. I need more notice time before the next party!
Lowell's post says it all about the call itself. My only addition would be the unanimous feeling that Jim is extremely thoughtful, well spoken and even charismatic. Most politicians at most have the last charictaristic and none of the former. I'd love to beg for Jim to come to this area and talk to large crowds, but I know that's not going to happen as much as we like- item 1. Why isn't Boucher stumping like mad for Jim? And getting him to joint appearances? ok, enough of that.
The main thing I can think of is Jim should be on TV more. Get him on anything, people really do love him when they hear him speak, but many haven't even heard him speak. I had four of the ladies tonight wanting to see a picture of him! They heard him for the first time, never knew what he looked like and just wanted to see his face. Tv, tv, tv, tv. Jim Webb needs to be on TV-DC, Richmond, Newport News, Roanoke. TV. TV. TV. TV.
