MASN Steps over the Partisan Line

Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, just cleared to air Washington Nationals baseball on Comcast, ran a subtly partisan ad on A12 in this morning's WaPo to thank officials who took its side against greedy Comcast. So far, so good. But MASN's type size selection betrays the partisan motive.

"Congressman Tom Davis" appears in 60-point bold letters while "Congressman Jim Moran" rates only 30-point mention. Hard to believe he worked only half has hard. Frank Wolf and Maryland's Albert Wynn and both Maryland senators also got only half the prominence but, even more overtly, MASN gives "Governor Bob Ehrlich" 84-point treatment.

Maybe we Nats fans at least should be grateful that MASN didn't even thank George Felix Allen Jr. (or John Warner). Maybe Allen was too busy calling Iowa and New Hampshire to lift a finger to get Nats baseball on television in Arlington and Alexandria. No wonder, it's already on Cox, which serves Allen's well heeled donors.
