Creigh Deeds: The Life of the Party

Thanks to a bunch of great folks like Eric Graves, I was able to attend the Alexandria Democrats' JJ Dinner last night, where I had the pleasure of hearing Creigh Deeds, Leslie Byrne, and Tim Kaine speak.  Mrs. Byrne had visiting family in town and had to leave early, and she was only able to say a few words before leaving.  That said, let's talk about Creigh Deeds.

I've been a fan of Deeds since he started running, but I never really reliazed just what a great leader he is.  He has a truly uncanny ability to connect with people, and the second you meet him, you feel like you've know him all your life.  In his speech, he touched on a number of important issues, including his impressive record as a legislator and prosecutor.  Did you know that he played a major role in getting Megan's Law and the Amber Alert put into action here in Virginia?  Or that they've been 100% successful, meaning that every single time they've been used, the child was recovered alive?

He also spoke of his personal life, and of his "cow pasture in Bath County," where he was a prosecutor before getting elected to the State Legislature.  He listed the livestock on his farm, and mentioned that he had to "upgrade" his speech from "three horse to four horses," as his family is "babysitting" a friend's horse.

Finally, Deeds stressed the vital role of Northern Virginia in this election, saying that "this election will be won or lost in Northern Virginia."  "We've got 142 days to burn this energy, and its gonna take everything we've got!"

So, go on over Deeds' website, learn more about him, and if you feel so inclined, give him a little cash.  Please add 74 cents to show it came from RaisingKaine.com!
