A Degree in TV

I heard an ad on the radio this morning for Best Buy.  They were selling computers to the back-to-school crowd.  Nothing strange about that - an  electronics store selling computers.

But here's the odd thing...

They were selling to three demographics of students: Elementary, High School, and College.

For the Elementary students they promoted the multimedia presentation capabilities for "show and tell".

For the High School students they promoted the ability to collect and store massive amounts of data.

For the College students they promoted the ability to view and record television shows.

Huh?  It's good to see that Best Buy thinks highly of the educational process in High School, but what does this say about what they think of college students?

Or is television and video what college is all about today?
