(My reply to a fellow RK poster on having discipline, falling in line, and being positive)

We are positive, and although I agree on your position of discipline I think something being said was useful. Yes, I may have let my frustration get the best of me, but better early than late.
Also, I don't think we should keep our cards so close. The Allen folks aren't idiots (even though allen may be himself), they have a LOT of money, which buys a lot unfortunately in american politics. My bet, is they are already 10 steps ahead of us.

And that's what upsets people, being realistic. I mean we need to know thine enemy before we can defeat it, and not just the inside campaign folks.. all of us.

Communication and the sharing of information within a organization is what makes it successful.

So what if Allen's camp is reading this, if they are (and they are) you know they are scared.

It's just better if they know we are very committed to defeat them, even if that means hashing things out on our own. That's what separates us from them.

We encourge others to speak up, and share ideas.

That's why we are Democrats.

And I am very happy and proud of that.

If we are not free to discuss (even strong opinions), we surely won't come together as Democrats in the end.  Everyone will be just too timid to air legitimate concerns and we could end up not picking the best candidate for the job.  It may seem counterintuitive, but I think that the kind of "discipline" some speak of is pretty, well, undemocratic.

One writer has been on my case and claimed I was "irresponsible" and didn't have a fair "standard of judgment" as it relates to one Hillary Clinton.  I thought that was what primaries were about.

It strikes me as pretty absolutist for one (not you) to require lock-step at this point.  And such censorship ought to be rejected.

I totally.. (drmontoya - 7/27/2006 4:03:19 PM)
totally agree.

One more thing... (KathyinBlacksburg - 7/27/2006 12:38:13 PM)
Thanks to Lowell's patience and steadfast, issue-based defense of James Webb, we now have James Webb as a strong candidate.  Right here on this blog there were doubters, most of whom were converted.  Lowell did it the right way, not by personally taking on naysayers.
