BREAKING: Fox news may have balls!

WOW.  Now, I have watched some "Christians" spew their hatred and ignorance before, but this one takes the cake.  While I am not shocked that this woman was:
a. on TV (for some reason, this "church group" keeps getting air time when they should be shipped to an asylum)
b. on FOX (any word against the troops will send this station into a panicked frenzy)
c. bubbling over with the "scripture" and eerily reminding me of the Stephen King movie "Carrie" (her interpretation of the word of God is NOTHING like my interpretation, how about you?)

I AM shocked that the newsoman went after her with such a vengeance!  That woman has some real big balls, and I had to share it with you in the midst of all of the religious talk (and the coming of the Holy war, as per certain members of the Republican party and their constituency).

I am afraid of people like this
Now, there are many other videos and stories out there that depict these religious people as complete and utter freaks.  This is not news to anyone, bc religious zealots have been around since the beginning of time.  But to me, the fact that some people are so offended by homosexuality that they feel they must create havoc and ruin lives in order to make everyone see things through their (closed and prejudiced) eyes, well I must ask the question: what are you doing here, then?  I will never understand these "Christians" that claim that America is the bastard country of frivolity and satanism.  They follow soldier's funerals around like I phollowed Phish, and they then stand outside with signs claiming that God hates fags (regardless of whether the dead soldier is gay or not) and that America deserves war and pain and suffering.  They line up in front of abortion clinics and scream hate filled rhetoric, claiming to be the word of God...but there is simply nothing Christ like about their behavior.  Some are racist, and some hate immigrants; many refuse to accept any walk of life dissimilar from their own.  Well, may I ask WWJD?

I hate to steal a line out of the Republicans playbook, but is it safe for me to say "Love it or leave it" and "if you don't like it, you can git out" yet?

And frankly...how the hell are people like this helping ANY party win an election?

Perhaps the Democratic party should simply run this video for the 06 campaign.  Because if anyone thinks people need more "God" in this day and age and less politics...well, I think we can all agree that these two have had more than enough soul saving.

UM...they are scary.  The second woman looked like she destroyed her children's lives forever, which certainly doesn't seem very "Christian-like" to me.

But, of course, like a true believer; she took the $$ at the end to do what?  Re-route the way she shits so that she can lose weight and not learn how to eat sensibly.  NICE.

Fucking Psycho (pitin - 7/18/2006 9:01:54 PM)
Those kids are going to need years of therapy to readjust to society, that woman was fucking crazy.  Jaime, don’t know where you keep finding these clips, but that one was fantastic.

Kids Camp (seveneasypeaces - 7/18/2006 10:10:59 PM)
Have you heard about the documentary Jesus Camp.  I heard parts of it on Air America.  They are taking children as young as 4 years old and putting them into camouflage and training (indoctrinating) them to be ready to kill for Jesus when the time comes.  Parents are sending their children to this camp.  This is terrifying and this woman is probably typical of the hysteria about good and evil.

I'm sure she voted for bush and is very happy with him and his world.  The two forces in the world are fear and love.  How will they ever be able to guide children who think they are on a mission.

Religious extremism is based in cruelty.  Period.

RE: Bravo! (JPTERP - 7/18/2006 10:51:31 PM)
Fox could have taken the easy route and condemned the activities of religious zealots who claim that American servicemen deserve to die because America loves homosexuals--but Noooo.  Fox stands up against the winds of popular prejudice and goes out on a limb to say that just maybe these people are in the right . . .

Or does it?

I guess it's possible to draw the conclusion that even Fox News draws the line somewhere.  Unfortunately, the line that they seem to draw is that conflict and bizarre characters make for good television.  The only editorial standard that Fox News employs is the lowest one available.

Incidentally (or not), I seem to remember the Washington Post doing a story about these protesters too a while back (found it http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/06/AR2006040601154.html).

Maybe reading a story about these freaks is less gratifying to them than getting on television.  Then again . . .

My personal opinion on this matter is not original--perhaps because this is such an obvious issue: There is such a thing as common decency--you don't harass grieving families and private citizens.  I don't see this as a free speech issue; it's a lot more like blasting a stereo at 11 PM in the evening.  It's a public nuisance.
