super.  Too funny.

Loved it (Maura in VA - 7/14/2006 11:16:58 AM)
BTW, Joe Lieberman really did call the primary a "jihad" against him.  Actually, a "crusade or jihad".  Something is really disturbing when a sitting Senator considers a long-shot  primary challenge to be a Christian or Muslim Holy War against him personally rather than a simple and healthy exercise in democracy.

God bless Steven Colbert.... (thegools - 7/14/2006 12:46:55 PM)
....he is one of the few with influence who has any spine.  All the while he keeps us laughing through it all.

Joe "hedge his bets" Lieberman deserves to lose this one.  I hope this "Jihad/Inquisistion" (I.E. Democracy) does its job.

Thanks Lowell

Wes Clark Respects the Primary in CT (Maura in VA - 7/14/2006 6:12:12 PM)
General Wesley Clark was live-blogging at DailyKos this afternoon and had this to say about the primary here in CT:

I am a proud member of the Democratic Party, and I believe it is our party's responsibility to support the will of the Democratic primary voters in Connecticut. I personally look forward to supporting the candidate CT voters elect as the Democratic nominee. Though, as an aside, I must say I find it ironic that Senator Lieberman is now planning a potential run as an independent after he continually questioned my loyalty to the Democratic Party during the 2004 presidential primary.

We find it ironic, too, General.  Mighty ironic.

Ouch (seveneasypeaces - 7/14/2006 6:27:10 PM)
Wes Clark Rocks!

Joe on Pat's show (Kathy Gerber - 7/14/2006 6:59:42 PM)
A Lieberman interview aired Monday on the 700 Club and he called bloggers "hotheads."  I had no idea ...

Eh (DukieDem - 7/15/2006 12:18:34 AM)
I don't like what Lieberman is doing running as an Independent. I don't like some of his votes. I do respect the actions of Connecticut primary voters in choosing their nominee. And I do very much want Joe to be that nominee. I have strong disagreements with him, but I ask again why we are letting the Reagan Democrats back in if we are kicking the Lieberman Democrats out. It seems like the party would like to have a revolving door, where we kick out the latest group who we disagree with.

We lost the Reagan Democrats because of Vietnam. Will we now lose the Lieberman Democrats to Iraq and continue to hamper our ability to be a majority party?

Over and Out (seveneasypeaces - 7/16/2006 12:33:54 AM)
Lieberman has stumped for bush.  I rest my case.
