Mary Matalin to join Allen's campaign

That was the word on the Chris Matthews Sunday show on CNBC. Though McCain is the Publican front-runner, show pundits said he doesn't have the hearts and minds of conservatives, who are coalescing around George Allen and Mitt Romney. They think goal of Matalin's involvement is to make sure Allen wins the Senate seat so he can mount an effective challenge to McCain.

Is anyone on the list familiar with Matalin's campaign record...tactics, communication strategies, etc.? Her flack work for office-holders is plain, but how about campaign work?

She was the one who went on TV defending Cheney when he blew that guy's face off.  She is caustic, derisive, and downright nasty.  She can also be counted upon to describe every great thing that our guy does as "desperate".
