Hey Y'all:

I've pulled together some powerful readings with which every member of the RK community should familiarize themselves.

I wonder if anyone would be interested in working through this reading list with me.  We could read and discuss.

Anyone?

Any interest in a "book club"?

Sure. (Kathy Gerber - 6/28/2006 4:39:11 PM)
You pick first.

What is Conservatism... (Josh - 6/28/2006 4:52:52 PM)
If there was one article I could get every American to read it would be Philip Agere's masterpiece.

Know your Enemy I Ideology:  Conservatism = Aristocracy:
http://polaris.gseis.ucla.edu/pagre/conservatism.html

It's about 20 pages, and it puts the whole blasted thing into context.

Conservatism is Aristocrisy.

learn it.  know it.  live it.

What's the best day for our little weekly bookclub?

How's Monday at noon /lunch time? (Kathy Gerber - 6/28/2006 5:01:36 PM)
Get the week off to a good start..

If not, Monday evening, else you pick again :)

Mondays are good (Josh - 6/28/2006 5:14:56 PM)
Obviously the discussion could run all day.  I'll announce the bookclub this monday with an early morning post and a summary of "What is Conservatism".  Then the next week, I'll post another summary and announce the reading for the next week.

waddya think?

Get a Room! (Mark - 6/28/2006 6:27:14 PM)
Seriously, hello to both of you....I have been busy, and I have lost your email address, Josh. My mail was messed up for a while.

Can anyone join this 'bookclub'?

Better yet, how do we have or find time to read anymore? I am going on vacation next week. I have promised myself a break from the usual. I want to read a book, whether I can is really the question.

Most of these are just articles (Josh - 6/28/2006 6:33:50 PM)
The only one over 20 pages is "Lessons from the Right", which is over 100 pages, but has one of the best graphics in the history of the world.

go check out "What is Conservatism".  I bet you can read it in a half an hour.

I'll say this little reading circle is open to anyone interested in building the Progressive Movement in Virginia, which... means... you... ;)

Yikes. (Kathy Gerber - 6/28/2006 8:42:25 PM)
Shall we switch to Friday?  Reason being lots of folks are off on Monday.

Friday sounds good.... (Josh - 6/28/2006 9:03:46 PM)
It'll give folks something to read up on over the weekend, and maybe little discussions will open up over the week.

Sounds like a good idea.

I'd like to participate. (Bubby - 6/29/2006 6:10:38 AM)

The more the merrier!! n/t (Kathy Gerber - 6/29/2006 7:55:09 PM)
