Sept. 10, 2001 Interview with James Webb

On the last day of the USA's pre-"Bush-Doctrine" era, James Webb was interviewed on WAMU's Diane Rehm show. It was regarding his then new-novel "Lost Soldiers." (He was Diane's last guest before the "September 11th" attacks.)
Although the interview is nearly 5 years old, it gives good insight into some of Webb's views, especially those surrounding Vietnam, current and past, and it gives some background into his reasons for entering the Reagan administration. (He joined it late in Reagan's first term, in response to the 1983 attack on Marines in Beirut, Lebanon.)
One will also hear a bit of Webb speaking Vietnamese. Above all, one hears the great intellect and thoughfulness of our future Senator. (Play time: 51:21 minutes)
