Al Weed has advanced to the second round of voting in ForwardTogetherPAC's Map Changers contest, along with Jim Webb, and Andy Hurst.

You get to vote for (up to) 5 candidates in the east and in the west, so go represent the Virginia Netroots in supporting our candidates. We are more organized and more active than any other state's blogosphere, so go out there and show them how it's done!

WOOT WOOT (pitin - 6/20/2006 12:12:57 AM)
I volunteered for Al while attending UVA, great guy.

And while tempted, we didn't make any Goode-Weed debate signs, we sure had fun designing them though.

Also, vote for Andy Hurst.  I met him, while I was the volunteer coordinator for Dave Marsden Delegate's race (VA-41), and Andy showed up with a team of volunteers starting LAST AUGUST to knock on doors for Dave, Andy is a team player.

Needles to say, vote for Jim Webb as well.

Al is a great candidate and a great campaigner! (Kathy Gerber - 6/20/2006 7:36:43 PM)
He really understands the 5th district.

I was unaware of that (Ben - 6/20/2006 12:32:41 AM)
I voted for Andy in the primary, and clearly made a mistake.

Are you still harping about that Tribbet? (pitin - 6/20/2006 10:28:59 AM)
Dude, the committee decided to go with Marsden, Marsden won by 20 points, your boy Golden...Lost by 20 points.

Every Democrat, in every race, in every precinct (save Deeds in one) won in the 41st under Dave's campaign.  Including precincts with 38 and 42 percent performance.

Get over yourself, and start helping the party.

Sorry Pitin (Ben - 6/20/2006 11:30:02 AM)
You are right.  Dave Marsden's powerful message swept every precinct for the Democratic ticket in the 41st.

Tim Kaine doing just as well in every neighboring precinct in other districts all the way out to Loudoun and Prince William can only be explained by Marsden's powerful message resonating across Northern Virginia, and voters wanting to go to the polls in all districts to ratify it.

Get over yourself, it's called coattails.

Ben (pitin - 6/20/2006 12:01:29 PM)
Go look at the numbers, we outpreformed Kaine, Leslie and Deeds in our district, hard to claim coattails when got better results.  Not to mention both coordinated campaign and local committee people thanking us.

And Governor Dean mentioning the Marsden campaign by name, during national organizing day, and at the annual DNC conference in Arizona, as the perfect way to run a bottom ticket race, that carries the top of the ticket.

Say what you want Ben, but the numbers don't lie.

That's the dumbest comment I have ever seen (Ben - 6/20/2006 12:47:13 PM)
If he "carried" the top of the ticket, why did they do just as well everywhere else?

Ben (pitin - 6/20/2006 12:52:34 PM)
At work, so can't do too much digging, but here are some numbers...

if you look at it by distirct Braddock: Kaine 58% , Dave 62%, and Springfield: Kaine 53% and Dave 57%

Also, our 250+ volunteers, doing 400+ shifts for GOTV isn't too shabby, in fact, I believe that was the best in the state.

Don't be bitter, just admit, that Dave did a better job than you ever could have hoped to have done.

I'm not bitter (Ben - 6/20/2006 1:42:05 PM)
Those numbers are just false.  See here.

Thanks for the link (pitin - 6/20/2006 1:44:44 PM)
Seems even your own readers disagree with you...

Disagree all you want with the analysis or the reasons why (Ben - 6/20/2006 2:46:50 PM)
But the numbers are correct.  They blow your dumbass argument out of the water.
