To Our New Progressive Members: We have been delivering fights for Progressives since 2005. It's a rough business, without many perks, but to have the opportunity to stand up for your beliefs is part of what we think life is all about. We hope you do too, and that you will find a home here to develop your skills.
To New Members from the Democratic Party: Thanks to great Virginia Democrats like Mark Warner, Doug Wilder, Tim Kaine, Leslie Byrne, Chap Peterson, Bobby Scott, and so many more, the Democratic Party is experiencing a miraculous resurgence in Virginia. We can make a contribution to building an enduring Majority in the Commonwealth. Next year we have the chance to take back the State Senate and there are literally dozens of competitive races for House seats that we can flip. If we capitalize on the momentum of Mark Warner's 2008 Presidential bid, we can hold the Governorship in 2009 and ensure that we elect Democrats to all three statewide Constitutional Offices. We must control state government in 2010 if we are to end the gerrymandered stranglehold the Republican Party of Virginia has on the redistricting process. We are devoted to fulfilling these goals. The Progressive Movement is here to support an enduring Democratic Majority in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
To disillusioned Republicans, seeking a new home: The Republican Party of Virginia and Nationwide has raced so far to the extremist right, that is has left millions of good, hardworking, Americans wondering if there is a place for them in American politics. There is, and as Jim Webb shows, it is in the Democratic Party. Please know that we want to hear your opinions. We want you to know that you are welcome. Welcome home.
To Republican Partisans: We welcome your dissenting views here at Raising Kaine. Please know that we value free speech above nearly every consideration. We may disagree with you, but we will fight to the death for your right to voice your opinons. We will not, however, tolerate ad hominem personal attacks, threats or slander. We reserve the right to ban egregious offenders. We've banned Democrats, even Progressive Democrats for these offenses so don't think there's a party bias to this. Please consider this an open forum in which to voice your opionions or to spin your positions. If you can take the heat, feel free to stay in the kitchen.
