At this morning's Virginia Beach Democratic Committee breakfast Jim Webb won a straw poll of attendees 79-49.  The 9:00 a.m. event, the second campaign event for Jim, was packed with people and had both Webb and Miller spending 25 minutes fielding questions and answers.  Jim was introduced by former 2nd CD Congressman Owen Pickett and Miller by a VA Beach School Board member (I forgot the name and will look it up later).  Notable attendees, and there were a lot of them, included surprise guest Delegate Brian Moran, Phil Kellam, David Ashe and Beach Mayor Meyera Oberndorf.

I'll write more on today's events later, but for now I am off to follow the Webb campaign to the Virginia Beach Ocean front for the Latin Fest.

That's not quite 2:1, but good news.. (thegools - 6/10/2006 11:19:45 AM)
nonetheless.  It is more of 8:5. Still a good sign.

Am I right in saying this?

Yes. (thegools - 6/10/2006 12:54:40 PM)
...except perhaps the one held at Miller headquarters when only his staff and volunteers were present.

Don't forget about the ITAA straw poll (relawson - 6/10/2006 5:04:52 PM)
The lobbyists dig Harris.  Go K Street!  Yay for Corporate Dollars!  Yay!

Actually, Miller would lose the ITAA straw poll to Allen... (Loudoun County Dem - 6/10/2006 5:10:48 PM)
It was posted on RK earlier that Oracle pulled out of ITAA when Miller announced he was running because they love Allen so much.

Oracle (relawson - 6/10/2006 6:58:57 PM)
Is also concerned about the attention this campaign draws to outsourcing.
