Miller's Desperate Atwater Hat Trick

First there were the smears of sexism.
Then there were the smears of racism.
Now there are the smears of anti-Semitism.

George Allen must be doing cartwheels.

The Miller campaign is shameless and beneath contempt.  Every honest Democrat with an endorsement for Miller should immediately rescind it.

In this primary campaign season, Harris Miller has provided an endless stream of Lee Atwater "dirty tricks": politics at their worstThree despicable, desperate, false charges that should NEVER have any place in a Democratic primary have all been raised by the Miller campaign.  Virginians didn't allow Jerry Kilgore to get away with his despicable "Hitler" ads against Tim Kaine, and Virginia Democrats must not reward Harris Miller for his perfect Lee Atwater slime trifecta.

At issue is whether or not a campaign flyer is anti-Semitic.  Despite the fact that Larry Sabato says it isn't,  Miller bloggers are out in force today forcing the issue.

University of Virginia political analyst Larry Sabato said the flier wasn't really any worse than other campaign literature he'd seen in hotly contested races.

"I think that's a real stretch to call that anti-Semitic, and I'm not usually inclined to give candidates the benefit of the doubt," Sabato said.

After this, there is literally no reason to support Harris Miller and any vote for Miller is a vote for the worst politics money can buy.  Virginia Democrats are better than this.  They know a winner when they see one and that's why Jim Webb is the Virginian Democrats will choose on Tuesday June 13 to take on George Allen.

There's a lot more to this (Josh - 6/8/2006 5:53:15 PM)
I wrote it and re-wrote it and basically posted a shell.  I'm too disgusted to think clearly about this, so I'm not going to fp it.

Josh, I completely agree. (phriendlyjaime - 6/8/2006 6:08:28 PM)
I have had it with their endless attacks on an honorable man.  The Miller camp is as bad as they can get, and I am comparing them to Republicans, which is no good.  They have employed people to steal countless signs, and spread hate.  In case anyone hasn't seen it, a certain partisan and popular woman in the VA blogosphere has again desecreated a woman in the same blogosphere and attacked the DSCC for endorsing Jim Webb.  Absolutely disgusting, desperate, and fucking SAD.

I don't want to hear anymore that "we all have to work together in the end, guys."  Well, maybe I don't want you here anymore.  Maybe I'll see what our big tent with Jim Webb has to offer, and see who else wants to come in from the rain.

RE: The Webb campaign needs to rebut this (JPTERP - 6/8/2006 9:44:56 PM)
Apparently Jim Webb now hates hispanics.  Someone from the Webb campaign should follow-up on this--hopefully we can get something on the newswire before Tuesday.

Thank you Harris Miller for stooping to yet another new low.

This group (Arturo - 6/8/2006 11:19:49 PM)
TLC is a Republican group.

That's bizarre (JPTERP - 6/8/2006 11:33:56 PM)
Perhaps this was one of Allen's shenanigans?  It is odd that any Democratically aligned organization would cite the RTD (although I note TLC considers itself non-partisan).

Looks like a front group (TurnVirginiaBlue - 6/9/2006 1:25:07 AM)
for social security privatization and more absurd written by and for corporations "free trade" agreements.

For me, that's good they are trying to rip Webb.  That means they are afraid of him and that means Webb really will vote and introduce legislation in favor of the American national interests and working classes.

Desperate Acts for Desperate Times (David M - 6/9/2006 12:22:44 AM)
These are the last desperate acts of a desperately sad, desperate man. If Miller had any ideas he would actually mention them at his campaign stops or appearances, if you can call those miserable gatherings of Miller and two paid campaign staffers following him like two ticks on a deer's ass.

Whatever happens in the primary, Miller is finished in Virginia politics.

His campaign has been an embarrassment to Democrats and Virginians alike!
