Jim Webb vs. Harris Miller: Words of Wisdom from Kentucky

The following letter is highly relevant to the Webb/Miller race. Check it out; does a lot of it sound eerily familiar?  I've bolded my favorite parts.

I'm glad to see The Falls Church News-Press coming in with an endorsement for James Webb.  I'm from the 3rd District in Louisville, Kentucky.  We just finished our Democratic primary here. Our Fighting Democrat, Andrew Horne, was beaten by a wealthy alternative newpaper editor who stands little chance to beat Republican Anne Northup in the fall.  Andrew Horne is a former Marine Lt Colonel who served two tours in Iraq, and like Mr. Webb would have proved to be a formitable opponent in the fall.

I hope Virginians will ignore this business of how long James Webb has been a Democrat.  What I know from my conversations with Mr. Webb, he is committed to lifting up the lives of the little people in Virginia, regardless of race, gender or sexual preference.  Anyone who has read Mr. Webb's work knows how thoughtful he is and can see why he has succeeded in everything he has tried to do, from leading a rifle platoon in Vietnam,  to his work with the Government and especially his fine writing.

Virginians have a once in a lifetime opportunity to send to the Senate one of the best qualified men I have seen in a long lifetime of watching politics.  I urge Virginia voters to make the decision to win in the fall by backing James Webb on Tuesday.  Please get out and vote.  Low voter turnout in our primary killed our chance to win.

Here in Kentucky, Republicans sighed with relief when Andrew Horne lost.  Champagne corks pop in GOP headquarter.  They knew they had dodged a bullet.  The Republicans in Congress and in the Bush Adminstration do not want to face the likes of James Webb in the fall.

Thank you and I hope you good Virginians will make the right choice next Tueday. James Webb really is George Allen's worst nightmare

Thanks much,

Hope Virginians Smarten-Up (Mimi Schaeffer - 6/8/2006 11:55:03 PM)
Gosh, I hope Virginia Democrats are wise enough to see that James Webb is the absolute best candidate in a very, very long time.
