Hello, this is John Kerry, and I'm calling because I support my fellow Democrat and my fellow Vietnam Veteran, Jim Webb. Jim is a man of courage and of independence, and I'm proud to endorse the talent and character that he brings to his campaign for the United States Senate.

Frankly, we need more people of courage in the Senate. And that means we need leaders like Jim Webb who've served honorably in the military and in our government, serving the country they love.

Jim knows President Bush has no plan in Iraq. Jim will fight every day for real national security.

Unlike George Allen, who says he's bored in the Senate.  Bored at a time when Virginia soldiers are caught in the crossfire in Iraq.

That's why we need Jim Webb. This is a critical year for Democrats. We can take back the Congress, and we can put an end to disastrous Republican control of Washington.  It won't be easy.  We need candidates of unquestioned integrity and experience who can fight and win tough campaigns against the odds.

They really don't come tougher than Jim Webb.

I don't like to choose sides among Democrats. But in Virginia's Senate race, the choice is clear. And Jim Webb has my strong support for the Democratic nomination.  Jim can beat George Allen.  Please help him do it.

John Kerry American Hero - Not a Bought and Paid for Miller Hack (David M - 6/8/2006 1:32:29 PM)
Dear VADem4Ever,

Not sure how old you are or what your true understanding of political issues is, but you seem to exist on this site for one reason: to attempt to deliver bad news about Jim Webb.

First of all, I respect your 1st Amendment right do so, and secondly, I admire your passion. However, I believe your attempts to undermine Jim Webb and his supporters are not only misguided, but also counter-productive to your advancing the cause of your own candidate (Is it Harris Miller or George Allen?).

People that write and visit this site frequently know exactly where they stand on the issue of Jim Webb and most other political issues of the day. Your nit-picking shows a childish and immature nature that is like that of the farthest extreme of the right-wing, which usually does its best work under the cover of night and anonymity.

I see from your profile that you created your account on June 1, 2006 and have only posted negative comments about Webb.

That said, Raising Kaine readers are on to you. You are either a rabid Harris Miller (paid staffer) supporter or a George Allen staffer.

Please realize that all the national and local endorsements that Jim Webb has received come from committed Democrats who know and believe that Jim is the type of leader that Virginia and America needs right now.

Regretfully, none of that can be said of Harris Miller or George Allen.

From looking at your comments, it is obvious that you can do research. If you are a Miller supporter/staffer/relative I would recommend that you spend some time analyzing the past 20 years of Harris Miller's work activity.

On two very important fronts Harris Miller has abandoned every Democrat that he has claimed to support in his “lifetime of service.” One is economic issues, as the Cheerleader in Chief of Outsourcing, Harris Miller has abandoned all Democratic principles by undermining the very strength of America - the American middle and working class. The second, and equally as disturbing, is registered lobbyist for Diebold - need I say more!

If you are a true Democrat, the above fact of being a registered lobbyist for Diebold should tell you everything that you need to know about Harris Miller: Harris Miller can be bought; Harris Miller's vote is for sale. This is not true of Jim Webb. For personal financial gain Harris Miller personally HELPED George Bush win/steal the 2004 Presidential election.

Please take these facts into mind next time you think of posting a negative comment about Jim. If you are a paid Miller staffer, remember to cash your check at the end of June 13th and immediately start volunteering for the Republican party, because if any of the facts about Miller's past don't cause you alarm you can't really be a Democrat.

In case you are George Allen fan, obviously Harris Miller is your guy. He will vote with you 97% of the time, just as George Allen voted with George Bust 97% of the time.

Best of Luck

Same old Miller tactics (Info_Tech_Guy - 6/8/2006 5:54:02 PM)
Miller and his proxies are behaving in a manner consistent with Miller's conduct at the ITAA. Miller long derided all critics, insulted and demonised opponents, obfuscated and evaded issues and successfully used the superior financial resources of big business to manipulate the terms of debate.

Now, Miller is in a contest where the democratic nature of the competition does not make it quite so easy to silence critics or overwhelm the opposition with money and procedural manipulation.

Harris Miller and his proxies can't tolerate real democracy because it involves open debate and an opportunity for people outside of the annointed elites to enter the discussion.

Miller has no answer to the questions and criticism re. his role in destroying American middle class jobs. That's why he and his proxies are intent upon changing the topic of conversation repeating long-refuted accusations and attempting to muddy the public debate.

Way to go David (kevinceckowski - 6/8/2006 1:39:23 PM)
If this is the same Fredericksburg article he/she posted on still another diary, it is actually interesting to read the part about what Larry Sabato says.  He thinks the Miller folks are out of line and really feels that in a hard fought race, things are said and done, within the realm of politics.  He has seen a lot over the years and does NOT feel Jim's campaign is out of line.  Don't ask me about all that, but that is what Sabato is saying.  Miller's folks need to take a chill pill is all according to Larry.
