Speaking of Iraq

Hat tip to Not Larry Sabato for pointing out this post on Jaded JD:

Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.  You remember, the Iraqi Information Minister who, at the height of the American invasion, said things like, "Yes, the American troops have advanced further. This will only make it easier for us to defeat them," and "We're now trying to exhaust them, until our leadership decides the time and method to clean our territory of their desecration," (among other things).  Republican bloggers who seem to tell Democrats that we Republicans urge them to nominate Harris Miller in lieu of Jim Webb because of our deep, fraternal concern that the Democrats have a viable nominee to run against George Allen--and that Harris Miller is that viable nominee--are the momentary Muhammed Saeed al-Sahafs of the Virginia political blogosphere."

Ben Tribbett adds the following, which I believe is almost as funny as the Jaded JD comment about haive, hapless, clueless Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

I would add, this isn't just Republicans, but Democrats like Chuck Caputo, Kris Amundson, Gerry Connolly and others supporting Harris and saying he is the stronger candidate.... we may have a new nickname for them as well...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. :)  Seriously, I find this to be absolutely hilarious.  As the saying goes, "truth is humor, humor truth."

Thanks to Ben and to Jaded JD.  You made me laugh this morning!  Now, can either one of you tell me why anyone would still be supporting Harris Miller for Senate?  Oh, and where IS Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf these days, anyway? :)

It crosses the line to make a Jewish person look Jewish??? (Alicia - 6/8/2006 9:58:49 AM)
You all are really grasping at straws now.  That is the most inane logic ever.

By the way, TPP had the exact same comment on NLS (Alicia - 6/8/2006 10:00:07 AM)
The One Man Smear Machine

IDNTW, TPP, and now VAdem4ever -- yeah right

TPP returns? (Lowell - 6/8/2006 10:01:52 AM)

Speaking of the antichrist... (Eric - 6/8/2006 10:14:46 AM)
two days ago was 6/6/06 - the day of the beast.  A remake of a movie on the same topic came out.  There was some discussion about the end of the world scattered throughout the blogosphere and MSM.

But I didn't hear any grievances or complaints from the Jewish community that the world was celebrating an anti-semitic holiday of some sort.  There was not a peep.  No one was talking about this as an attack on Jews.

Please, stop the foolishness.  The modern and broadly accepted concept of the antichrist is NOT anti-semitic.

Exactly right. It's just a figure of speech.... (Lowell - 6/8/2006 10:19:42 AM)
Meanwhile, points out that:

Miller supporters are telling people that Webb is anti-semetic. It is disgusting.

I will actively work AGAINST Harris Miller if he wins the primary. I will trash him at every juncture, and do EVERYTHING I CAN to ensure that he receives less than 35% of the vote (it won't be hard). Not only that - I will single-mindedly hound him with this blog for the rest of his political career, and I will encourage others to do so.

Unless he or his campaign repudiates these attacks, Harris Miller will not get my support.

I agree, 100%.  As VC says, "As soon as they strongly repudiate this, I'll take this item down. Otherwise - they're complicit."
