5 Days Without Politics, the Blogosphere, and Jim Webb is NOT FUN...

Well, I am sure most of you are THRILLED to hear that I am not dead, or fresh off a switch to the Republican party.  I have been very quiet for the past week bc I was on a business trip to Charleston, SC with VCU.  I learned a lot, shopped way too much, and ate and drank my way through the cobblestone streets of one of the most amazing US citites I have ever visited.  Sidenote:  Ladies (or men, I don't know y'all that well), note to selves...similar to NYC and many areas of Asia, Charleston has those great bikes that have a cart attached to it, and the drivers are adorable.  It is a great way to get around the city, and the ass view is phenomenal.  :)

I missed all of you TERRIBLY, and I couldn't stand being away from the blogosphere.  Though politicking and a state job don't always neccessarily mix (nor are they supposed to, as my co-workers keep reminding me) I DID proudly display a Jim Webb sticker on my bag and my shirt every day.  What did I learn?

Some people are following this race closely, other people thought Jim was some kind of rock star (which he most definitely is) and they thought I was pushing his concert.

A lot of Republicans hate Bush, but they are still unwilling to vote for a Democratic nom.

EVERYONE thought Jim Webb's background was cool, regardless of whether or not they knew him.

Only ONE person was offended by the fact that Jim USED to be a Republican, and he thought it was great that we were scaring the pants off of George Allen and his supporters.

Oh, and people across the country hate George Allen, regardless of where he lives.  Smart peeps.

So, it's your turn to help me out...what did I miss?

We are so glad you are back! (Kathy Gerber - 6/8/2006 12:09:31 AM)
You were sorely missed.

What happened was that my t-shirts finally arrived.  You'll have to read all the other diaries:)

Welcome back, we missed you... (Loudoun County Dem - 6/8/2006 12:24:04 AM)
You need to catch up on Neal2028's 'Why I'm Voting for Webb' series...

Nice (phriendlyjaime - 6/8/2006 12:37:57 AM)
Thanks you two, and it is nice to be back.  I have started catching up, and I did read the most recent installment from Neale.  I haven't gotten a call from Kerry yet though.  And the Chuck Shumer/DLC endrosemnet is good news!  :)

RE: Welcome Back! (JPTERP - 6/8/2006 1:08:33 AM)
And here I thought you were too busy phone banking to post on RK!  Good to hear that you're back in the action--we definitely need you down the homestretch.

It was a quiet few days while you were gone (Lowell - 6/8/2006 5:32:52 AM)
Nothing much happened, pretty boring.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

JUST KIDDING!  The last few days were amazing - endorsements of Webb by John Kerry, the DSCC, a slew of Democratic Committee chairs, etc, etc.  Now, we're in the home stretch, and there's tons going on.  We need phone banking, voter contact, and GOTV help.  So, Phriendlyjaime (and everyone else), please get right to work and Jim Webb will be our nominee for US Senate against the "hated" George Allen next Tuesday night.  Should be a great victory party, hope you can make it! :)

JP, nice working with you at HQ... (kevinceckowski - 6/8/2006 7:39:44 AM)
last night.

Good work to all at HQ, enjoyed my time there again as always. It is indeed, as David said, crunch time.

Great work Kevin! (JPTERP - 6/8/2006 10:15:16 PM)
A pat on the back to you as well.  It was great to see all of the folks working the phones again tonight.  Excellent work.
