Neutral observer at the Falls Church Parade

I am not an active Webb supporter.  I was an observer at the Fall Church Parade yesterday; my husband was there with F.C. Dems.  These are my honest, non-biased observations of the parade.

I was seated in a folding chair at the intersection of Park & Pa Aves.  Webb, in a Henley shirt, slacks and the ubiquitous baseball cap, strolled jauntily down Park Ave. from side to side, shaking hands with any and all and wishing everyone a Happy Memorial Day. He had quite an entourage, at the end of which came a small boy - perhaps 4 or 5 years old, who went to each person who held out a hand, shook hands and said in a very serious voice - "June 13th!" This pronouncement was His Job, and he concentrated heavily on his performance, which was most effective. N. B: Nowhere in any conversation/remarks did I hear reference to personalities - the message was "Get the Vote Out!"

At the end of the march, Harris Miller appeared in a business suit & tie, making his way fussily down Park, spouting to all his platform, gladhanding those who got in his way and exuding personality in every direction.

Thanks FCDem (JC - 5/30/2006 2:48:21 PM)
Care to hazard a guess as to the relative number of supporters each candidate had?

Harris Miller must have found a spot to change clothes in a flash:

Did Jim look great or what? (phriendlyjaime - 5/30/2006 3:16:16 PM)
He's a handsome man...

check out the age of the Miller supporters (teacherken - 5/30/2006 8:52:37 PM)
looks to me like it is mainly under 25, and maybe quite a few under 18.  I don't see evidence of BROAD community support.
