Harris Miller and the Wholesale Outsourcing of American Jobs

Harris Miller is not just one of many corporate lobbyists. Miller was the president of ITAA which was formed by 400 corporations for the purpose of outsourcing high-tech American jobs on a wholesale basis. ITAA Shepard's through legislation, lobbies Congress and conducts seminars teaching hundreds of corporations how to outsource every possible high-tech job, cutting deep into our middle-class. The purpose has been to lower wages across the board in America and that is exactly what has happened.

"US workers may have to get used to lower wages"

-- Harris Miller 10/20/2003 - US House Committee on the outsourcing of white collar jobs.
Harris Miller's ITAA was also the major organization hired by Diebold and others to introduce paperless voting systems which have caused a dramatic loss of confidence in America's right to vote.

“We oppose the idea of a voter verified paper trail” -- Harris Miller 7/30/04 http://www.cio.com.au/index.php/id;558873322;fp;4;fpid;21

Harris Miller personally lobbied and testified before Congress to raise the caps on H1B Visas which are used to bring foreign workers to America to be trained by an American worker before that American is laid-off and the foreign worker returns home with an American job.

"As a result, our industry strongly believes the cap (H1B Visas) should be eliminated or increased substantially." -- Testimony of Harris Miller 2/25/1998

This is why the AFL-CIO has said Harris Miller is “truly one of the bad guys” who is "unfit for any kind of labor support."

Harris Miller Declares War against American Workers

Harris Miller should be ashamed of himself

This betrayal of the American people is unforgivable and partly why great Democrats like Leslie Byrne, US Senators Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, Christopher Dodd, Ken Salazar, Tim Johnson and Debbie Stabenow have endorsed Jim Webb over Harris Miller for the Democratic nomination for the 2006 US Senate race in Virginia. Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner recently said the following about Jim Webb:

"In Jim Webb, we have somebody who's not afraid to take on a fight… someone willing to take this fight to all the people of Virginia... a great American, a great Virginia Democrat."
-- Mark Warner 5/14/06 (at a fundraiser for Jim Webb)

Meanwhile Harris Miller continues to regurgitate old endorsements received before anyone else was in the race and presenting them as though they are new. Many of these endorsers were not aware of Millers past and are now embarrassed by their endorsements, which is why many of their staff and loyal volunteers are now working for Jim Webb. Harris Miller made $50 million dollars outsourcing American jobs and is now trying to buy a US Senate seat with a typical Republican style big money, media saturation campaign full of misleading and deceptive propaganda. A US Senator becoming a corporate lobbyist is bad enough. A corporate lobbyist buying a US Senate seat is unacceptable.

Don't let him get away with it. Don't let Harris Miller damage the entire Democratic Party by serving as a national disgrace for Republican George Allen to publicly destroy this November. Please join over 2500 Democratic grassroots volunteers in Virginia who are supporting Jim Webb for US Senate. Go to Jim Webb's web site (webbforsenate.com) volunteer, donate money and help us make George Allen's worst nightmare a reality.

"Jim Webb is George Allen's worst nightmare: a war hero and a Reagan appointee who holds moderate positions…. Allen tries to project a Reagan aura, but Webb already has it.” - University of Virginia political analyst Larry Sabato [Time Magazine, 5/7/06]

Nice quotes (TurnVirginiaBlue - 5/28/2006 2:23:49 PM)
I personally believe Miller is running simply so corporations can by-pass the lobbying activities and have their own representative in the Senate.

By-pass the middle man sort of approach.

Not just the ITAA (Info_Tech_Guy - 5/28/2006 7:53:23 PM)
Harris Miller is also the former president of the WITSA.

Google "WITSA" and "Harris Miller" for general information but see in particular http://www.zazona.com/SHAMEH1B/Skunks.htm#WITSA

The World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) was originally known as the World Computing Services Industry Association (WCSIA). The WITSA is a  worldwide version of the ITAA that has the same goal of providing cheap labor that can easily be moved across international boundaries. Harris Miller now has two infamous titles: President of Information Technology Association of America, and President of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance.

WITSA is a globalist organization that seeks to exploit workers on a worldwide level. In order to achieve it's goals it has allied itself with 46 organizations in countries all over the world. Member countries include China, Egypt, India, Korea, Romania, and Singapore.

The WITSA uses faulty claims of worker shortages to justify the importation of cheap labor. They lobby for looser government regulations in order expedite the movement of labor across borders. Their favorite ploy is to cite massive skills shortages in the United States and wherever else there are high salaries. They also like to borrow ITAA studies that show that high-tech industries will grow so fast  that they won't be able to find enough skilled workers.

Even more ominous is that they want to influence WTO ministers to give instant work visas so that workers can be moved across borders on a temporary basis among WTO members. [134]

The WITSA has conferences in countries that they call the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) that some describe as the "Olympics of IT". Perhaps a more appropriate nickname would be "The Slavelords of IT". Harris Miller makes the cities seem like lucky winners to host these conventions of greed. When talking about 2006 he said, "We are thrilled that WITSA's board of director's awarded Austin, Texas the honor of hosting this premier IT event." [135]

Austin's Mayor, Gus Garcia, gushes about this convention when he said that, "Hosting the World Congress on Information Technology is an opportunity for Austin to prove that it is an international business and technology center". The mayor obviously didn't consider what this organization has done to destroy those high paying jobs in Austin.
