Another Great Endorsement for Jim Webb

Today, Jim Webb was endorsed by yet ANOTHER Democratic U.S. Senator.  This time, it was Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, who "made history in 2000 when she became the first woman from the State of Michigan elected to the United States Senate."

Ironically, Stabenow (pictured to the left with a young woman who is, purely by coincidence and certainly not by any conscious or subconscious choice on my part, extremely attractive...ha) defeated none other than Spencer Abraham, about whom Harris Miller said: "I+óGé¼Gäóm doing everything I can to get him re-elected" (Harris Miller, Orlando Business Journal 10/20/00).  Ha!

Anyway, Stabenow today endorsed Jim Webb, saying:

Jim Webb has the background and the passion for public service to beat George Allen and serve Virginia well in the U.S. Senate. He'll be a great addition to the Senate and to our Democratic caucus.

Nice.  Keep 'em coming!

[UPDATE:  According to Project Vote Smart, Debbie Stabenow gets the following ratings on the issues from Progressive groups:
Choice: 100%
Arts and Humanities: 100%
Civil Liberties: 78%
Civil Rights: 100%
Education: 100%
Environment: 85%-100%
Children: 100%
Foreign Policy: 100%
Women: 100%
Government reform: 86%
Labor: 86%-100%
Retired Americans: 100%
Social Justice: 100%
Poverty: 100%]

WOW! (phriendlyjaime - 5/24/2006 4:41:33 PM)
Soooooooooo...wait, I am confused; let me get this straight.

Lowell, are you saying that someone who worked closely with Harris Miller on their own re-election campaign, LOST, and now their replacement is endorsing Webb? FASCINATING!!!!

Miller strongly endorsed Spencer Abraham... (Lowell - 5/24/2006 5:13:30 PM)
for re-election.  Debbie Stabenow beat him.  Abraham is a right-wing Republican. Stabenow is a Democrat.  Miller CLAIMS he is a Democrat. What does this tell you about Harris Miller?  Did the board of ITAA, which was Miller's baby by the way, "make him do it," just like they "made him" give money to Hastert, Abraham, Sununu, Specter, etc?  Ha.

Sen. Stabenow (Arturo - 5/25/2006 9:30:07 PM)
Sen. Debbie Stabenow beat Harris Miller.  Harris Miller campaigned against her.  Not much he can say, I guess.  Miller didn't expect her to support him, did he?

Good deal!! (summercat - 5/25/2006 11:09:45 AM)
Wonder how the Miller campaign will spin this one?
