Last day to contribute to James Webb.  I am going home to scrape, and although I cannot give much, I can give my bar money for the next few weeks and drink cheap beer at home.  Can you?

Come with me...
Dear all,

Contribute before tonight's midnight deadline!

We've got less than 12 hours to go before tonight's midnight deadline. It's critical we finish strong.

We're less than $7,000 away from reaching our fundraising goal. Please contribute to Jim's campaign today!

James Webb, VA's next Senator!

Our campaign has the momentum in this race. And the clearest indication of our momentum? The non-stop attacks from our opponent Harris Miller. It's disappointing to see our opponents resort to these tactics, and it's up to Jim, you, and our campaign to fight back.

This past Sunday, Jim Webb easily won a straw poll of Newport News Democrats over primary opponent Harris Miller, earning 77% of the vote. Jim has swept all three straw polls conducted by local Virginia Democratic parties because the voters know who will represent their interests in the U.S. Senate.

The fact is Jim Webb is the real Democrat in this race.

Jim has received support from eight sitting and former Democratic Senators.  Including the current Democratic leader in the Senate Harry Reid, former Democratic leader Tom Daschle, and former chair of the DNC and current Senator Christopher Dodd. Jim has also been endorsed by 25 current and former elected Democratic officials in Virginia and has signed up over 2,500 volunteers from all over Virginia.

A recent Time magazine article called Jim "George Allen's worst nightmare." That's because Jim is the only Democrat who can beat George Allen. A Zogby poll in late March has him within single digits of George Allen, trailing only 48-41.

And unlike Harris Miller, Jim has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq War from the beginning.

Help us elect a real Democrat on June 13th. Please contribute whatever you can in these final hours before midnight. Every contribution, no matter how large or small, will help us reach our $25,000 goal!

Corporate lobbyist Harris Miller's record shows he is a leader of the movement to outsource American jobs and fight against the interests of workers. Organized labor called Miller "truly one of the bad guys" whose "anti-labor, anti-worker activities...find him unfit for any kind of labor support."

Miller called the nomination of John Ashcroft a "win-win because he has impeccable legal credentials."

Miller has made thousands of dollars in personal campaign contributions to rightwing Republicans including Dennis Hastert, Spencer Abraham, Arlen Specter, Billy Tauzin, John Sununu and Adam Putnam. He has contributed the maximum allowable by law to Dennis Hastert.

Finally, Miller supported the Bush Administration's invasion of Iraq, and only recently flip-flopped and began to oppose it.

Is this the kind of leader Virginians deserve in the Senate?

Jim is focused on bringing real leadership to Virginia, and when voters hear his message, they know that Jim is the candidate to carry us to victory and Take Back Virginia this November. Jim needs your support today. Provide him the resources he needs to spread his message across all of Virginia.

Yesterday, Jim asked us to put our boots on. Well, I've got my boots on, and I hope you will put on your boots, too. These next three weeks will require each of us to do everything we can to get Virginians out to the polls to vote for Jim. You can start today by giving before the midnight deadline tonight.

Thank you for your continued support. The next 20 days won't be easy, but on the evening of June 13th, when Jim officially becomes the Democratic nominee, we will know that it was worth it.

Sincerely,

Jessica Vanden Berg
Campaign Manager
Webb for Senate

P.S. After you've given to our campaign, please take a few minutes and pass this message on to your friends, family, and colleagues.
