Is Harris Miller trying to infer an endorsement from Mark Warner?

The Miller campaign just sent out the following email titled

"Mark Warner and the Virginia Democratic way".

Bold text is as it is in the email:

From the desk of Harris Miller

When I decided to take on George Allen and bring change to Washington, I knew it would be a tough challenge - but I also knew I had a great role model in Mark Warner, a Democrat and businessman who brought fiscal responsibility and forward-focused leadership to government here in Richmond. To put it simply, Mark Warner defines the Virginia Democratic way.

It was with Gov. Warner's achievements in mind that I was proud to be his special guest at his official portrait unveiling in Richmond and at his event that evening. I was even prouder when he said, "Harris Miller has been a friend for 20 years, a leader in our party, and has supported great Democratic candidates across Virginia."

Together, we've built a strong Democratic Party here in Virginia, and the victories we've already recorded this year - victories by people like Senator Mark Herring, who has endorsed my candidacy - prove it.

Like Mark Warner, you and I have worked hard for those Democratic successes.

I look forward to November 2006, when we show once again that Virginia Democrats know how to win here in Virginia. I was there when we elected Chuck Robb, when we elected Doug Wilder, when we elected Mark Warner and when we elected Tim Kaine. We know how to win in Virginia, and we're going to prove it again when I beat George Allen in November.

Yours,

Harris Miller

There is also a picture of Warner with Miller included in the email.

Sure looks like it. (Lowell - 5/18/2006 4:57:54 PM)
Time for some return fire, I'd say...

Feeble and pathetic... (Info_Tech_Guy - 5/19/2006 8:03:11 AM)
Well, Harris has been scolded by the DSCC for his attempts at character assassination and he doesn't want to talk about his record or issues which might bring up his record...

So, now he's trying to annoint himself as Warner's endorsed candidate -- attempting to use Warner's kind words as an endorsement. Miller has so little going for himself, it's all rather feeble and pathetic but so typical of Miller's manipulative and lie-filled past as an anti-worker insider lobbyist

For all his his yammer about "bring[ing] change to Washington", Miller is certainly doing his best to conceal the fact that he has spent most of his working life as a Washington insider -- most recently an anti-union/anti-worker hired gun lobbyist in D.C. One can readily see why Miller is looking for all the cover he can get. Miller now bills himself as a "high-tech industry leader" (according to his campaign literature).

Without ever having done anything admirable in business or public life, Miller is reduced to an ever greater reliance on lies... After all, Jim Webb has the majority of endorsements, the majority of all recent endorsements and the most significant endorsements.

Were it not for the fact that Miller has so ruthlessly worked against genuine democratic principles, that he has been such a willing ally of the anti-worker pro-offshore outsourcing CEOs and corporations, that he is a liar, a fraud, and a character assassin, one could perhaps feel sorry for him...
