As amazing as it may sound, a handful of Senator George "Cowboy" Allen's followers marched in the Arlington Neighborhood Day Parade. A courageous move given that Allen will be happy to break into double digits in Arlington come election day. Ha. Just kidding George, I'm sure you'll make it into the teens.A few observations about this crew:
The Allen marchers, by the time they reached the end, consisted entirely of white men. To be fair, one woman with child in tow was spotted long after the parade.
The last man in their crew was not walking, but instead driving a gas guzzling SUV. Perhaps a statement about Cowboy George's position on high gasoline prices and our country's dependence on oil?
They were all in uniform, the same Allen blue t-shirts. Conformity - please draw your own conclusions.
Not one cowboy boot, cowboy hat, or horse was in sight. Why wasn't George, in his hat and boots, riding a horse down Wilson Blvd? Now that would have been a sight to see.
