The Adventures of Robo-Boy and Lava Girl (Well, Maybe Not Exactly Lava Girl)

[Danger: Sarcasm Zone.  Enter at Your Own Risk of Increased Cynicism.]

It's time to take on Robo Boy.  He still hasn't been in our area, but Harris Miller does do bulk (robo) calls and bulk mail.  Imagine my pleasure (?) at opening my mail today and finding the following on Harris's agenda.  I haven't stopped laughing.  He wants to:
--"Reverse the Bush economic policies that have led to a massive budget deficit and hurt American families"  (My aside: Yeh, like outsourcing, offshoring and tax cuts?)

--Taking on the oil industry to make sure they pay their fair share in helping to achieve energy independence.  (My aside: And my favorite person to do that is -- another lobbyist?  And how exactly does tax cut extension do that?)

--Establishing a clear exit strategy for Iraq -- a plan to bring the troops home (My aside:  Excuse me, but what about your support of putting the troops there in the first place, your criticism of those you so derisively and unfairly imply are cut-and-runners, and you refusal to put a timetable?  Yeh, I'm so much more confident now.)

--Cleaning up the culture of corruption in Washington DC.  (My aside:  This is just too priceless.  What the heck, I can't help it.  I have to BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!)

--Creating opportunites for all Virginians to achieve the American dream.  (My aside:  Like your promoting offshoring of our jobs, unbelievable preference for corporations over people, and tax cuts for the rich(see above)?  That's your idea of Virginians living the American dream?)

Dude sure is tryin'... for what I have no idea!

Believe me, (Arturo - 5/12/2006 7:25:57 PM)
there are actually people, including endorsers of this man, who think that he was only doing his job.  It was his job to put more profits in the pockets of corporations, to import cheap foreign labor so they could be exploited, to help corporations replace American workers, to lie before congress about labor shortages, to hide the human abuses, to promote human trafficking, etc.  Poor man, he was only doing his job.  Bastardo!

Miller: hypocritical and gratuitous defense of unethical conduct (Info_Tech_Guy - 5/12/2006 8:30:52 PM)

I share your outrage, Arturo.

The claim that Miller "was just doing his job" does not excuse Miller of accountability for his actions.

While Miller has not crossed the line into illegal acts as Abramoff has done, I find evidence that Miller has deliberately lied, facilitated the creation of false studies to deceive people and has acted against the interests of millions of honest, hard-working, industrious and productive American workers -- union and non-union.

No one put a gun to Harris Miller's head and forced him to help CEOs lie about labor shortages and alleged benefits of offshore outsourcing of American jobs. No one forced Miller to work as a lobbyist on behalf of rich elites against the interests of American workers and the broader American society.

Harris Miller is a fraud and an enemy of people who believe in justice and democratic principles.

The evasive tactics employed by Miller and his campaign when questioned about his lobbying past make it clear that honesty is not to be found in Harris Miller.

I wish I could laugh (Alicia - 5/12/2006 7:20:45 PM)
