What can you do to help?

Out on the campaign trail I'm often asked, what I can do to help elect Democrats.  They are listed in order of amount of time and treasure expended.  You can do them by yourself or with other Democrats.  Remember, whatever contribution you can make is valuable to you, your family and loved ones, your community, your state, and the entire nation.

Vote for Democrats
(Time=minimal  Treasure=priceless)
Make sure that you and everyone you know vote for Democrats!  If there is even the slightest possibility that they may not or cannot make it to the polls, don+óGé¼Gäót take a chance. Have them complete an absentee ballot application form (available from your local Board of Elections).  Instructions and deadlines are usually on the form.

Show the Flag for Democrats
(Time=minimal  Treasure=priceless)
Display yard signs, signs in windows, on doors, and car bumper stickers.  Wear Democratic candidates+óGé¼Gäó gear whenever possible: campaign buttons, stickers, caps, lapel pins, etc.

Volunteer for a Local Committee
(Time=depends on you  Treasure=priceless)
Volunteer on the local level and become a sustaining member of the Democratic Party.  You could do any number of things from canvassing to becoming a block or precinct captain.  Your local Democratic Committee needs your help.

Give Monetary Contributions
(Time=minimal  Treasure=as much as you can afford)

Volunteer for a Democratic Candidate+óGé¼Gäós Campaign
(Time=as much as you can afford for good government)

Become a Democratic Candidate
(Time=extensive  Treasure = Priceless)

Thanks Shawn (Dan - 4/30/2006 8:50:17 PM)
Shawn,

Thanks for your post.  I have tried to get your staff to give me some information for a campaign report at the Arlington County Democratic Committee Meeting.  I would love to get some volunteer information out to people up there.  I find that every time we simply get someone's name out there, we get people more involved.  I think Northern Virginia owes the rest of the Commonwealth as much help as they can give.  I will keep you on my radar, and do what I can to help.
