Nice art there, Dan!! Woo-woo!! (summercat - 4/27/2006 10:40:07 AM)
Sounds like the Webb machine is picking up speed, at least as shown in the events.  It was somewhat surprising to see the following LTTE in the Daily Press today.  I have no clue about the writer.

"On June 13, Democrats will vote in a primary to select someone to run against George Allen for the United States Senate. Harris Miller is a strong candidate, and his statements about bipartisan solutions to problems resonate with a citizenry that is tired of the partisan politics prevalent in Washington.

Miller came from simple beginnings and worked hard to become the successful businessman he is today. He understands working people and will strive to bring much-needed jobs to Virginia, as did Mark Warner as governor.

George Allen is on the campaign trail for president and has stated that the Senate is "boring" and "too slow" for him. He says he cannot promise to serve out a full term in the Senate. It sounds like he will be spending most of his time, as he does now, campaigning outside Virginia for national office.

We need to select Harris Miller in the primary and then work with him to make sure we have a senator committed to working for Virginia first."

Not sure (KCinDC - 4/27/2006 11:38:20 AM)
Should you really be associating Webb's name with another state when he's up against George "Rather Be in Iowa" Allen?

hmm... (Laura86 - 4/27/2006 1:35:52 PM)
I personally prefer Harrison Ford ;)

Just a comment (Rebecca - 4/27/2006 2:56:31 PM)
I love Jim Webb and think he's a great candidate, but don't you think you are going a little overboard with the Webbitis?

There are many other races coming up in Virginia and a lot of people know nothing about the candidates. It would be nice to see you give them some space here.

It also wouldn't hurt for you to expose some of the other Republican candidates.

I didn't actually know this would be posted! (DanG - 4/27/2006 3:05:35 PM)
I was inspired by the Free-Lance Star artcile and just did this for some friends.  I was surprised to see it this morning.

As for other races, I honestly believe that only Jim Webb and Phil Kellam can win this year.  Phil is the only Democrat running for Congress in the Second, so he's pretty much preparing to destroy Thelma silently right now.  Not too much going on there yet.  I'm focusing on Webb because (other than Phil) he's the only guy I think can win, and he's got an intense primary going on right now.

That's just me.  Anybody else want to work on other Democrats, be my guest!
