Kudos to Greg Bouchillon for his fantastic photos from Judy Feder's office opening today.  I'm really bummed I couldn't make it, but we'll have an interview with Judy on Raising Kaine tomorrow.  For now, here are a couple of great pics. Oh, by the way, according to Greg, there were over 100 people there.  Greg also writes:

Judy gave a rousing speech, inspiring thunderous applause from the audience. People were almost as fired up as Judy was. The energy in the whole place was explosive, and I think we+óGé¼Gäóre going to see some amazing results from this campaign as the days go forward. She+óGé¼Gäós a big bomb in a small package, and I think Frank Wolf is freaking out right now, especially after seeing her fundraising numbers. Face it: she+óGé¼Gäós a badass.

Great stuff.  Oh, and good riddance to Frank Wolf!

I like this one too.  For more pics of the event, please click here.

P.S. I heard from a friend of mine who was at the event, and here's what he had to say:

As always, Judy gave an inspiring speech and laid out a coherent approach for winning the 10th District.  She introduced her husband (stan I think) of 38 years and her son and daughters.  Along with the large crowd of activists from Loudoun and Fairfax counties, supporters and voters were the following people:

Senator Mark Herring
Senator Charles Waddell
Delegate Chuck Caputo
Delegate David Poisson

I had been impressed with her announcement that she had raised more than twice what Wolf did this quarter.  I looked at her and Wolf's FEC filings and became even more interested.  She raised $288,000 this quarter, her first quarter of fund raising.  She currently has $268,000 cash on hand.  Wolf raised $128,000.  However, Wolf only has $451,000 in the bank.  That's right, Judy is only $187,000 behind Wolf.  Looks like he blew his wad on Jim Socus and has been too lazy to replenish it.

Judy is a great candidate, probably the best we have running in the state this year.  She is dynamic, exciting, intelligent, and a very inspiring and articulate speaker.  Now she has demonstrated her ability to raise money.  This is going to be a great race.  Will she beat Wolf? Probably not but I would not rule anything out.  One thing for sure, she will do far better than the 33% that Socus got in 2004.

She is a better candidate, Wolf will not have the Bush coattails in this election, and the region has been trending Democratic with the Poisson, Kaine, and Herring victories.

Something else that you can post on Raising Kaine is the Democratic Canvass that will be taking place in Northern Virginia (Primarilly Fairfax County) on 4/29/06.  The main start of it will be at FCDC HQ.  Greg Werkheiser will be there to kick off the event and then he will go to Lorton to canvass.  We need a lot of volunteers.  I am sending a bunch to Judy's precincts too.  Mark Herring, Judy, and Steve Shannon will be out there.

This is excellent news! (Kip - 4/23/2006 10:56:48 PM)
For the last few months, I had more or less written this race off. Then the fundraising data came in, suggesting that the Feder campaign is alive and kicking. Now we have a successful campaign kickoff, more than 100 enthusiastic volunteers, and a passionate and intelligent candidate. Frank Wolf will have a battle on his hands.

In the national context, we need to continue to challenge every GOP candidate. Thus far, I believe Democrats have already broken a record for the number of candidates they are running.

In our own backyard, R-11 Tom Davis is almost be challenged by two Andy Husrt and Ken Longmyer.

How do we stand in the rest of VA?
