Just announced!  Jim Webb will debate Harris Miller on Sunday, May 21 at 10:30 AM on WVEC-TV's "On the Record" show, hosted by Joel Rubin.  In addition, Webb will debate Miller on Friday, June 9 at 10:00 AM on WTOP's "The Politics Program" hosted by Mark Plotkin.  The primary is Tuesday, June 13, so these debates will come just a few days beforehand.  This is exciting news, and puts to rest the whole issue of Jim Webb not debating Harris Miller.  I can't wait.

VERY exciting news... (Loudoun County Dem - 4/20/2006 9:11:45 PM)
Will there be an audience for either debate?

Great News! (Debby - 4/20/2006 10:02:05 PM)
The Sunday debate could be the focus of some Debate Watching parties at local restaurants, where brunch is served.  It could also be a fundraising opportunity of sorts--passing the hat for the candidate.

C-Span (Neal2028 - 4/20/2006 10:13:45 PM)
Any chance C-SPAN may air either of these, or is it even possible?

I don't know, but... (Lowell - 4/20/2006 10:25:12 PM)
you can always contact C-Span and request it.  From the C-Span website:

Suggest Events: Submit a public event that you think C-SPAN should cover - events@c-span.org

If everybody else does it, i'll do it too, and maybe we'll get it aired!

Debate Watching Parties (Teddy - 4/20/2006 11:49:52 PM)
The blogs should organize the debate-watching parties---
what about the meet-ups to do this?

This is a good idea. And, how can we find out if there will be an audience in the studio during the broadcast?  I watched the Kaine-Kilgore debate at the Chamber of Commerce myself at a local neighborhood restaurant in the Vienna Park shopping center, as I recall.

Excellent! (summercat - 4/21/2006 8:08:11 AM)
The more debates, the better, imo--watch out, Harris Miller!!

I just emailed them n/t (phriendlyjaime - 4/21/2006 9:13:24 AM)
