Today at the Shad Planking, we had the pleasure, courtesy of the Webb campaign, of listening to some great bluegrass music by the Locust Mountain Boys.  I last heard them at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner back in February. Anyway, here are some pics.

It'll work (Neal2028 - 4/19/2006 11:05:12 PM)
Bluegrass worked for Mark Warner, and Tim Kaine employed a band called No Speed Limit for his appearance at Acres of Democrats last year, so I'm glad to see Webb has one, too.

Hopefully, he can get Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys out on the trail for him here in SWVA, and, as I pointed out to somebody in his campaign, he should be at Coeburn's 4th of July picnic with Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys--the entire town (no kidding--like 2000 people) comes out for the show (and at least a few folks from Bristol! :) )

great! (AlecBGreen - 4/20/2006 3:39:48 AM)
Ralph Stanley is the man. If he came out for Webb that would be a huge asset in the 9th. What are the chances of him playing for Webb?

Ralph Stanley (Neal2028 - 4/20/2006 5:33:49 PM)
Ralph is about as good a Democrat as you can find.  He even paid a couple shows for John Kerry in Lynchburg and, I believe, Roanoke.

I've heard Webb will be at his Hills of Home festival in May.

But for a real, full-blown fundraiser, I'm pretty sure all Webb would have to do is ask.
