"Jim Webb is the only Democrat who has all the right credentials to defeat George Allen."

I promised I would give more information on the Pickett endorsement as soon as I could, and here it is:

"Jim Webb is exactly the kind of leader that Virginia Democrats can proudly stand behind," said Congressman Pickett. "I believe he is the best hope for the people of Virginia to end George Allen+óGé¼Gäós blind support of failed policies."

Once again, Former Congressman Pickett has demonstrated why he's one of my heroes.  Pickett isn't afraid to remind us what this campaign is really about in the end: beating George Allen. Harris Miller can+óGé¼Gäót do that. Period. I haven+óGé¼Gäót heard one strategy from Miller supporters on how Harris competes for moderate and Independent votes this fall.

Meanwhile, with all the military support gathering around Webb, I+óGé¼Gäóm starting to see how Webb will win this election. Military voters have had a history recently of supporting Republicans - in this case, a former Republican - in federal elections.  Who is Harris Miller going to win over?  IT professionals? They think he+óGé¼Gäós a weasel.
Regarding Jim Webb, Pickett adds:

As a former Secretary of the Navy, Jim is the only Senate candidate in Virginia who has an intimate understanding of the challenges facing our Navy and Virginia+óGé¼Gäós shipyards and their workers. I am confident that his leadership in the United States Senate will help bring new energy and vitality to Navy programs and bring new work and job opportunities to the people of Virginia.

Bring new jobs and work opportunities to Virginia, you say?  Opposed to+óGé¼-ªsay+óGé¼-ªsending them to India and China at the expense of Virginians? Seems to be a common theme so far in this campaign, huh?

Let me remind everyone of Jim Webb's endorsements so far:

*Retired Four-Star General Army Gen. Wesley Clark, 2004 Democratic Presidential contender
*Retired Four-Star General Joseph Hoar, former Commander of CENTCOM
*Former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey, Member of the 9/11 Commission
*Iraq war veteran and former U.S. Senate candidate, Paul Hackett
*Former Congressman and DPVA Party Chair Owen Pickett
*Former U.S. Congresswoman Leslie Byrne, 2005 Democratic Nominee for Lt. Governor
*Former Democratic whip of the Virginia House of Delegates Chap Petersen
*Former Virginia Senator Emilie Miller
*Arlington County Board Member Jay Fisette
*Arlington School Board Member Ed Fendley
*Arlington County Treasurer Frank O+óGé¼GäóLeary
*Arlington County Commissioner of Revenue Ingrid Morroy.

Those are just the official ones.  According to Jim, we know Tony Zinni will also be on board.  And I'm sure many more will follow in the weeks to come as Webb gathers strength for the fall.  The primary is June 13th.  Make sure you vote for the only Democrat who can seriously take on George Allen in November.
