Today former State Senator Emilie Miller  threw her support behind Jim Webb calling him a "principled Democrat".  From the campaign press release:

(Fairfax County) - The first woman elected to the Virginia Senate from Northern Virginia, former Senator Emilie Miller, endorsed Jim Webb for the democratic nomination to U.S. Senate today. Senator Miller also served as the Chairwoman of the 11th District Democrats, representing democrats in Fairfax, Prince William and Fauquier County.

?Jim Webb is a principled democrat who knows how to lead,? said Miller. ?His life story is inspiring. His intelligence is unparalleled. And his inherent potential to connect with all of Virginians is exciting. I have no doubt that Jim Webb is the most qualified person in Virginia to be a United States Senator.?

?Emilie Miller has been a dedicated public servant for Northern Virginia and the entire Commonwealth for a long time,? said Webb. ?She has always had the courage to stand up for what she believes in. We come together today with a common vision for the solutions to problems facing Virginia and the country. I thank Emilie for her support.?

The NoVA elected officials endorsement list continues to grow.

What?? Harris canno (Arturo - 4/4/2006 11:34:32 PM)
What??  Harris cannot even get his sister's endorsement?

Wow that is big. Emi (d'moore - 4/4/2006 11:34:32 PM)
Wow that is big. Emilie Miller, like Leslie Byrne, is known as a big supporter of women's rights so this should also help dispell any of the "Webb doesn't support women stuff" from his statements 30 years ago. Even most military men get the picture sooner or later.
Again, when I've asked people to sign his petition, Democrats know of Webb and are excited about his candidacy.

Great to hear on bot (Alicia - 4/4/2006 11:34:32 PM)

This is a pretty big endorsement for Webb.  Again, it's in Miller's home territory of Fairfax.
