Evening Open Thread: Blame Game Gumbo

Here's an open thread to keep the simmering soup of blogsphere controversy bubbling over and smelling savory:

* Remember back when Hurricane Katrina wiped out New Orleans? Remember how US President George W. Bush was warned?  Remember how even though he told all the top state officials that help was on the way,  he let America's coolest city drown to death?  Well, we were all told at the time that that was not the time to play the "blame game".  Apparently, Mr. Bush has decided that now, six months later, IS the time.  So, today he blamed Congress.

* I don't know what's scarier about the latest Bird Flu news:  the message or the messenger.  In the words of John Stewart:  "Oh my god!  It's "didn't know New Orleans was Underwater" guy!  Oh man, I feel safe now.

*I was wondering last night whether the ports deal was just a clever ruse to unwrap the George W. Bush anvil from around the necks of incumbent GOP Congressmen.  Any thoughts, now that the deal's gone south?

*Conspiracy Theorists Rejoice!  There seems to be a secret plot against the grassroots supporters of James Webb afoot at places like Not Larry Sabato.  Some anonymous posters would have us believe that a candidate's supporters should just STFU and go home.  I wonder if it's someone from the Miller, Allen campaigns.  VC thinks it might be the Webb Campaign.  Where's my tinfoil?

*The Harris Miller for Lt. Governor 2009 campaign seems to be coming along nicely.

*A rousing Raising Kaine "Welcome to the Blogsphere!", goes out to Wackjob.  I expect great things from this newcomer.

*Oh, and wasn't James Webb on TV last night?  When's Colbert going to post that friggin video!?

Juicy simmering goodness... Grab a spoon and dig in!

[update:  I couldn't resist putting up that D&G ad.  poll question: sexy or silly?  I mean, what the hell is she doing up there?]
