Go Away, John Kerry!

Dear Readers: I have concluded that the discussion prompted by my post on John Kerry this past weekend has not been helpful or productive.  Most likely, I was wrong to post it in the first place, based on my frustration and anger at seeing George W. Bush in the White House.

Moving forward, I would urge all Democrats to stay united against the right-wing, and to work as hard as possible towards defeating them.  For that, we all -- progressives, moderates, conservatives -- need to avoid the infamous "circular firing squad."  I apologize if I have done anything to promote said squad, of if I have offended my fellow Democrats by attacking John Kerry.

Let me just say that I believe John Kerry is a good man who would have made an infinitely better president than George W. Bush.  I agree with John Kerry on 90%+ of the issues, and believe him to be a man of integrity.  I am proud that I campaigned for him, and proud that I cast my vote for him.

Having said that, I sincerely hope the Democrats select a different candidate in 2008, preferably one with appeal in the South (and other "red states").  Someone, perhaps, like Wes Clark, John Edwards, or Mark Warner.

With that, I return to Kilgore bashing and Kaine Raising.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Lowell
