Later I'll write about some specific RK columns which I particularly appreciated.  But for now, I want to thank three writers for their contributions to environment and energy issues and the nexus of those two things.  firs, of course, is Lowell whose background as a policy analyst and (I mean serious respect when I use this word)resident energy wonk.  His blogs on the subject made a real contribution to the blogosphere.

Though there are many able writers who've made their way to our new blog home, BC, I still have a hard time believing that we'll ever live up to the energy work of Lowell Feld.

There's more...
Second, I began to look forward to the Mountain Monday series, by which faithfull kept in our consciousness the many facets of coal mining, including (and especially) mountaintop removal.  Even from my home in Blacksburg, I feel as though I need a regular remind about what is happening an hour or so west and a couple hours southwest.  This series, contributed significantly to the extant reporting on a critical subject.  If we don't learn the lessions contained in these excellent posts, too many gorgeous vistas we've prided ourselves in will be gone.  But worse, the health of residents and the qualify of live in areas near removal, and all communities impacted by stream contamination will be seriously undermined.

And finally, I want to personally thank The Green Miles for his long-term contributions on a wide variety of environmental subjects.
