I couldn't say it any better than Rachel Maddow. Democrats must get their "political soul and political dignity back." Joe must go.

I agree... (Dave N. - 11/14/2008 9:01:00 AM)
I was on the fence regarding Lieberman, but Rachel was very convincing in her analysis.

Yes, she was. (Lowell - 11/14/2008 9:07:01 AM)
Although, I must say, it's the same exact analysis many of us have been making for weeks (months?) now...

I'm gonna admit it... (Dave N. - 11/14/2008 9:42:45 AM)
I'm red-faced; I ignored all the Lieberman analyses here (no offense); I was hacked off at him and didn't want to get angrier. I just happened to be watching her show last night and caught it. So props to RK if everyone was saying the same.

Dave, in your defense... (cycle12 - 11/14/2008 10:01:51 AM)
...we were all over the board on that one here, too.

However, in agreement with Rachel's comments as shown above and with what I perceived to be the "RK majority" on this issue, denying Lieberman a committee chairmanship might be the best answer.  I particularly enjoyed Rachel's chuckling suggestion that Lieberman run for re-election next time "...as a Republican...in New England."

If I understood it correctly, Obama's comment was directed at keeping Lieberman in the Democratic Party and, unless I missed it, did not address giving Lieberman a committee chairmanship.

That's up the Senate, of course, and it will be most interesting to see how they handle that over the next few weeks.

Thanks!

Steve

See Joe go. Go, Joe, go. (jboltmd - 11/14/2008 1:27:36 PM)

Yes!  Most definitely. Joe must go.

The Democratic Caucas should strip him of all committee memberships and leaderships.  Who knows which way he will vote?  Ask yourself this question:  "Would I ever turn my back on him, especially if he happened to be holding a knife?"

Rachel makes our evenings rock.  Sanity is returning to the USA with humor in its tow, thanks also to Keith, Chris, and Jon.

I would like to be the first member of a new fan club named "STRAIGHT GUYS FOR RACHEL!"

Second (Dave N. - 11/14/2008 2:22:24 PM)
I want in on that Rachel club. My wife even knows I have a crush on her. I guess she doesn't feel threatened! ;-)

Leahy wants Lieberman ousted as committee chair (cycle12 - 11/14/2008 7:08:22 PM)
According to this very recent AP article; http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200... Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., wants Joe Lieberman ousted as chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee.

And the beat goes on...
