With all but the provisional votes in Virginia Beach counted (which should certainly favor Obama, though I don't expect many will be counted), Obama trails McCain 49.78% to 49.19%, meaning Obama came within .59 points of McCain.  For those who may dismiss this as a near miss, may I point you to what happened here just 4 years ago:  Bush 59.06%, Kerry 40.22%, meaning Kerry lost by 18.84 point.  

So we're looking an improvement in performance of 18.25 points.  Wow, huh?  
The Campaign for Change and Coordinated Campaign should be extremely proud of the job they did . I'm very proud of all the work we did with Veterans and Military Families for Obama, as these constituencies make up a substantial part of the Virginia Beach electorate.  And African American voters showed up like never before.  It was a beautiful sight to see and an amazing thing to be a part of.  

We fought for every vote in every part of the state, and
