Starring in Irony

This is the week for hilarious overt irony from the Republican ranks.  First, Vice-President Dick Cheney shoots his wingman (who has now suffered a heart attack induced by the birdshot!) in a Texas bird hunt.

Now comes word that Kenneth Starr, who, as an independent prosecutor hounded Clinton at great expense over lying about that little intern has himself been caught... lying.  It seems that Mr. Starr, along with other lawyers for a death row inmate in California, sent fake (yes, fake) letters purporting to be from jurors asking Governator Schwazenegger for clemency. In other words, Mr. Starr created evidence our of whole cloth in the form of letters with other people?s signatures. San Joaquin County prosecutor Charles Schultz (NOT related to ?Peanuts,? in another, unrelated piece of irony) said the letters were ?untrue,? and ?pure fiction.? The supposed senders never wrote any such letters.

Starr, by the way, is the Dean of Pepperdine School of Law. Do they have a legal ethics course at Pepperdine, do you suppose?  And do they have a course in hunting etiquette and safety we can send Dick Cheney to?
