You Deserve a Good Caning if You Protest Karl Rove?

With regard to the Wolf campaign's assault against two Feder campaign workers this past Friday, I must have missed this gem from the Winchester Star this morning:

Wolf, who had characterized Feder's remarks about him as false, was leaving the forum when two Feder staffers followed him and began asking questions while videotaping the exchange.

[...]

[Wolf's Chief of Staff Dan] Scandling said the "ambush" was an attempt by Kent and Goodman to get Wolf to make a mistake on camera. "They showed up the next morning, doing the same thing" at another Wolf campaign appearance in Northern Virginia.

Goodman has a history of creating incidents at political events. In April 2007, he joined 19 other American University students in protesting a speech by former White House aide Karl Rove, also a Republican...

And the point here is...what exactly?  That if you protested against Karl Rove, arguably one of the least popular political figures in America (and for good reason!), there's something subversive, unpatriotic, or wrong about that? I mean, why is the Winchester Star even writing about this, what relevance does it have to the story of Frank Wolf's campaign staffers assaulting two Feder staffers? Frankly, it sounds to me like the Winchester Star's been getting a few phone calls from some of the same Wolf goons who physically assaulted the Feder staffers. Now, the Wolves are trying to assault the young Feder staffers' reputations, in what is a classic case of "shoot the messengers." It's as if protesting Karl Rove earns you a (justified) caning in Frank Wolf's America.

Winchester is still "occupied Virginia" (ToKnow - 10/28/2008 3:27:11 PM)
One must remember that many residents in and around Winchester, 143 years later, still consider themselves a part of Occupied Virginia - holdovers from the Civil War.  No surprises here.
