Obama has come to many VA schools (Bryan Scrafford - 10/25/2008 8:10:32 PM)
I think it's worthwhile to note that while this will be the 9th time he's stumped in Virginia, it'll also be at least the fourth time Obama will be at an institution of higher learning in our great Commonwealth. He was at GMU shortly before he officially declared his candidacy, VCU's Siegal Center for Virginia's JJ Dinner during the primary, and was at Mary Washington about a month ago.

and.... (martha - 10/26/2008 7:41:16 AM)
secondary schools like E.C. Glass in Lynchburg and I believe several other high schools in Southwest VA.

When Obama appeared in Lynchburg a dispute over parking arose when it was assumed ( you know what happens after assumption) that people could park at the Plaza. The Plaza is a run down shopping Center on Memorial Ave. next to Glass. It is owned by Liberty University and they sent their campus police to block the shopping center the night of the event. Prior permission was not obtained to park there and the Falwell's said it could violate their tax exempt status if they allowed it.

A slew of Letters to the Editor followed and it pretty much left egg on the faces of the powers that be at LU. it energized even more Obama supporters in the area and even LU students volunteer for Obama here!

Should be a good show... (Bryan Scrafford - 10/25/2008 11:33:58 PM)
If you haven't watched Inside Scoop in awhile, they've really done some great things with the sets. Combine that with the great reporting they're doing and it's definitely worth watching.

It's also worth noting that Mark is a really fair host who won't let people from either side get away with BS answers. In other words, you'll really learn a lot by watching the show.

... (corinthian - 10/25/2008 10:04:12 PM)
Hopefully this will give Sam Rasoul a much needed boost. The conservative Daily News Record called him the local equivalent of Obama, which is a compliment in my book

PPP - O53 - M42 (uva08 - 10/26/2008 8:44:58 AM)
A new poll from PPP is out, showing Obama with an 9 point lead  here.  This is great news on the eve of another Obama visit.  Obama and his volunteers are working hard for Virginia and at this point it's looking like it may pay off.

FYI, I posted this in Quick Hits (Lowell - 10/26/2008 10:49:41 AM)
yesterday evening, and it's Obama 52%-McCain 43%, not "O53-M42."

Sorry... (uva08 - 10/26/2008 11:46:00 AM)
I didn't catch it and I did mix the numbers up.

No worries. (Lowell - 10/26/2008 11:49:18 AM)
Just wanted to correct it. Thanks.

Pennsylvania and Virginia (Dan - 10/26/2008 3:04:25 PM)
I think Obama should focus much of the last 9 days on these two states.  This is where the election will be won.  He needs to hold of McCain in Pennsylvania, which McCain is counting on, and on Virginia where he looks to have the best chance to turn a large Red State (13 electoral votes) blue.

Obama will not lose the election if he wins these two states, where he is likely to win.
